Середина 90-х, практически все хард-роковые и металл команды "того" времени продолжавшие играть, начали попсеть и превращаться в откровенное (придется воздержаться от сурового мата) "не то". Только Принц Теней Кинг Даймонд остался верен своему ремеслу и спустя 5 мучительных лет записал отличный материал. "Колыбель паука" выдержана в том же стиле, что и ранние работы группы, не случайно я упомянул о том, что Кинг не предал своих (да и не только) идеалов в музыке. Вокал как всегда высокотонален и неудержим, гитара стала меньше выводиться на передний план, даже очень редко, но этот пробел компенсируют прекрасные клавиши. Музыка на альбоме значительно тяжелее, чем на ранних произведениях и, вообще, "The Spider's Lullabye" - самый тяжелый альбом Кинга Даймонда. Если вы ищете тяжелую гармонию звука, то лучше АЛМАЗНОГО КОРОЛЯ ее не преподносет НИКТО!
