В 1984-м году история этой британской группы в очередной раз делает свой виток, привнося что-то новое в творчество легендарного коллектива. И если на откровенно слабом и сером "Ring Of Changes" группа звучала, в общем-то, вполне узнаваемо, хоть и убавив артистизма и полифонии, то на "Victims Of Circumstance" заметно значительное изменение в звучании. Во-первых, группа стала звучать более модерново, очень в духе времени, прибегнув к цифровому способу записи альбома и новым синтезаторам. Лис стал активно использовать дисторшн для получения тяжелых риффов, а Холройд был замечен даже в применении слэпа, чего раньше за ним не наблюдалось. Во-вторых, совершенно неожиданно появились... женские подпевки а-ля Пинк Флойд!
