"Пыль и мечты" - пожалуй одно из самых амбициозных творений за почти 40-летнюю историю "верблюдов". Хотя бы потому, что все те музыкальные черты, которые всегда были присущи этой замечательной команде - мягкое, рафинированное звучание; сложность музыкального рисунка; старание убежать от приевшихся клише - всё это выражается здесь в полной мере. После прослушивания создаётся впечатление, что годы творческой засухи очень сильно повлияли на музыкантов, однако, как это ни странно, не испортили собственно музыку, а сделали её намного более утончённой, скрытой от ушей, минималистичной (обложка лишь усиливает это чувство). На этом полотне поначалу очень легко затеряться, причём скорее в пыли, чем в мечтах. Клавишные Шерпенцеля пространны и атмосферны, они и создают общее настроение.
