Второй альбом неутомимых трэшеров-извращенцев из Америки Nevermore «The Politics of Ecstasy» получился на голову выше, чем дебютник, о чём можно было догадаться при прослушивании предваряющей альбом EP. Музыка стала сложнее, техничней и ещё более атипичной, чем была ранее. Всё то же самое только ещё больше: жёсткие риффы, сумасшедший вокал, сбивки и прочее.Мелодий стало гораздо больше, что не может не радовать, а партии соло гитары намного разнообразнее. Кое-где в партиях ритмической гитары стали даже использоваться переборы на дисторшне. Ударник радует отточенными партиями, которые приятно слушать, а бас действительно стал более качевым. Также хочется отметить, что, несмотря на увеличение мелодизма, психоделичность группы никуда не делась, а стала ещё больнее и извращённее.
