«Maniacal Renderings» продолжил линию «‘Tage Mahal». Который, в свою очередь, продолжил линию «Poets & Madmen». То есть Олива продолжил играть в свой личный Savatage. На очень высоком уровне. Уж точно выше, чем он играл в него же на «‘Tage Mahal». На дебютнике была запись не очень и невзрачные песни. На «Maniacal Renderings» устранили обе проблемы.
