Parts of the album were written by lead singer Keith Murray whilst staying between a rented cottage in Athens, Georgia, and Miami Beach, Florida. Barbara was then recorded in New York, Los Angeles and London. The album marks the first recorded with new drummer Andy Burrows, formerly of Razorlight. After Burrows parted with Razorlight in March 2009, he joined We Are Scientists in August of the same year, scheduling recording sessions with them during autumn 2009.

Bad Town Blues was the brain child of Adam Norton. With a set of Chicago Blues standards they cut a 4 track demo, and played their debut performance at the Colne 2000 Great British Blues Festival. The band subsequently worked all over the country on the club and festival circuit playing original blues and covers, sharing stages with acts as diverse as The Blockheads, Dr Feelgood and Otis Grand.

Like other Pork acts Fila Brazillia and Solid Doctor, the duo of Mark Blissenden and Andrew Burdall specialize in earthy breaks and ambient atmospheres, more slanted to the instrumental edge of acid jazz than other producer-based trip-hop acts.

Anastacia is the eponymous third studio album by American recording artist Anastacia, released on March 29, 2004 by Epic Records. The album was a commercial success, peaking at the top of the albums charts in several countries, including Australia, Belgium, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Anastacia was never released in Anastacia's native United States, despite plans for an August 30, 2005 release with a different track listing from that of the European version, which would replace "Sexy Single" with the B-side "Underground Army". The plans were canceled for unknown reasons.

Frank is the debut studio album by English recording artist Amy Winehouse, released on 20 October 2003 by Island Records. Production for the album took place during 2002 to 2003 and was handled by Winehouse, Salaam Remi, Commissioner Gordon, Jimmy Hogarth and Matt Rowe. Its title alludes to the nature and tone of Winehouse's lyrics on the album, as well as one of her influences, Frank Sinatra.

30 is the fourth studio album by English singer-songwriter Adele. It was released on 19 November 2021 by Columbia Records, as Adele's first studio album since 25 (2015). 30 is inspired by Adele's divorce, motherhood, fame, and heartache, and expresses themes of acceptance and hope. She wrote the album from 2018 through 2020 with producers such as Greg Kurstin, Max Martin and Shellback, all of whom worked on 25 as well. New collaborators included Ludwig Göransson, and Inflo of English band Sault.
