Дальнейший творческий путь Стива Хакетта хоть и не был усеян розами, но качество его музыки оставалось постоянным. В последующие годы он основал собственную студию вместе со своей женой, художницей Ким Пур, оформлявшей многие из его альбомов. Диски "Spectral Mornings", "Please Don't Touch" и "Defector" представляют собой красивейший прог с изумительной гитарой. Вряд ли можно назвать шедеврами "Cured", "Highly Strung" и "Till We Have Faces", хотя последний довольно любопытен своими латиноамериканскими элементами. "Bay of Kings" и "Momentum" напоминают о его классическом гитарном образовании: в этих альбомах акустической гитаре отведена главная роль.

Wind & Wuthering is the eighth studio album by English progressive rock band Genesis. It was released on 17 December 1976 on Charisma Records and is their last studio album to feature guitarist Steve Hackett. Following the success of their 1976 tour to support their previous album A Trick of the Tail, the group relocated to Hilvarenbeek in the Netherlands to record a follow-up album, their first recorded outside the UK. Writing and recording caused internal friction, for Hackett felt some of his contributions were dropped in favour of material by keyboardist Tony Banks.

We Can’t Dance (englisch für „Wir können nicht tanzen“) ist das 14. Studioalbum der britischen Rockband Genesis. Das im November 1991 veröffentlichte Werk ist das letzte Studioalbum der Gruppe, welches mit dem Sänger Phil Collins aufgenommen wurde, der fünf Jahre später die Band verließ und für das Album … Calling All Stations … (1997) durch Ray Wilson ersetzt wurde. Trespass is the second studio album by the English rock band Genesis. It was released in October 1970 on Charisma Records, and is their last album with guitarist Anthony Phillips and their only one with drummer John Mayhew.
Genesis turned professional in autumn 1969, and began to rehearse intensely and play live shows. After several months of touring they secured a recording contract with Charisma Records, and entered Trident Studios in London in July 1970 to record Trespass. The music marked a departure from more pop-oriented songs, as displayed on their first album From Genesis to Revelation, towards folk-flavoured progressive rock. This ranged from light acoustic pieces with multiple twelve-string guitars, to the heavier live favourite "The Knife". The sleeve, featuring a knife slash across the front, was the first of several to be designed by Paul Whitehead.

The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is the sixth studio album by the English progressive rock band Genesis. It was released as a double album on 18 November 1974 by Charisma Records and is their last to feature original frontman Peter Gabriel. It peaked at No. 10 on the UK Albums Chart and No. 41 on the Billboard 200 in the US.
While the band worked on new material at Hedley Grange for three months, they decided to produce a concept album with a story devised by Gabriel about Rael, a Puerto Rican youth from New York City who is suddenly taken on a journey of self-discovery and encounters bizarre incidents and characters along the way. The album was marked by increased tensions within the band as Gabriel, who insisted on writing all of the lyrics, temporarily left to work with filmmaker William Friedkin and needed time to be with his family. Most of the songs were developed by the rest of the band through jam sessions and were put down at Glaspant Manor in Wales using a mobile studio.

И на нем он пробует что-то новенькое (для себя): за два года до того, как его бывшие коллеги ухнут в AOR на Duke, Стив уже приглашает очень форматного вокалиста-американца из Kansas, и даже какую-то попсовую вокалистку. Возможно, это влияние лейбла, и если так, то лейбл должен быть доволен: всё это звучит очень, очень радийно по тем временам - и очень по-американски. Интересно, что в 1982 году Стив организовал выступление в Guildford Civic Centre, подготовленное для Tadworth Children's Hospital, на котором Хэккетта поддержали старые коллеги по Genesis: Майк Рузерфорд и Питер Гэбриэл. В начале 1983 года Хэккет выпустил сингл ''Cell 151'', который предварял выход очередного номерного альбома, ''Highly Strung''. Selling England by the Pound is the fifth studio album by the English progressive rock band Genesis, released in October 1973 on Charisma Records. It reached No. 3 in the UK and No. 70 in the U.S. A single from the album, "I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)", was released in February 1974 and became the band's first top 30 hit in the UK.
The album was recorded in August 1973 following the tour supporting the previous album, Foxtrot (1972). The group set aside a short period of time to write new material, which covered a number of themes, including the loss of English folk culture and an increased American influence, which was reflected in the title. Following the album's release, the group set out on tour, where they drew an enthusiastic reception from fans.

Invisible Touch is the 13th studio album by the English rock band Genesis, released on 6 June 1986 by Atlantic Records in the United States and 9 June 1986 by Charisma and Virgin Records in the United Kingdom. After taking a break in group activity for each member to continue with their solo projects in 1984, the band reconvened in October 1985 to write and record Invisible Touch with engineer and producer Hugh Padgham. As with their previous album, it was written entirely through group improvisations and no material developed prior to recording was used.
