This is a stone cold groove of an album. Eliza is a great songwriter and delivers her version of standard rock blues with a modern slant. Not a boring second on this CD. I highly recommend. That voice, oh man. If you like her other offerings you'll love this, if you're new to eliza this is a great place to start but you'd do yourself a disservice not to get her other works.

Her strong, raspy voice balanced with piano and unique song arrangements creates a world so close to your heart.

An assembly line of blues and rock drives “messin with a fool,” it captures Detroit’s independent spirit with true grit and motor city soul. Eliza Neals sought out the unique talents of veteran writer/producer Martin ‘Tino’ Gross (Kid Rock, RL Burnside) and united him with Detroit legend Barrett Strong (Marvin Gaye, Temptations) to begin provocative recording sessions. Eliza’s “strangely sultry blues voice” and cool writing style melted with the two masters forging a solid union. Completing their first song plus music video in the summer of 2010, proved “Misery” could truly bring happiness!

Eliza Neals is one of the treasures of Detroit's 21st century music, where dynamic voices can take you back to the city's past as a haven for jazz and blues, not to mention something called the Motown Sound. Breaking and Entering is another amazing album from Eliza, who would have been a perfect fit in a smoky 1920s club or in the French Quarter during hurricane season. If Breaking and Entering is your first exposure to Eliza, you'll be buying more, but you'll never get the full experience until you see her in person.

Washed up on golden grotto beaches in times of rage, is “Black Crow Moan.” Eliza Neals lands squarely on blues-rock with the help of Joe Louis Walker (BB King, Blues HOF) and Derek St. Holmes (Ted Nugent.) Soaring high above 10000 feet below, Eliza Neals sultry feathers soothes the quarantined music lovers soul.
A terrific landing crew of musicians including Mike Puwal (Kenny Wayne Shepard, ICP), Howard Glazer, Lenny Bradford (Bo Diddly), Jason Kott (Robert Randolph), John Abraham, Chuck Bartels (Sturgill Simpson) handle the guitars to fly by wire. Rolling the undercarriage straight is Skeeto Valdez (King Konga), Jeffrey ‘Shakey’ Fowlkes (Too Slim), Demarcus Sumter, John Mederios Jr, and Brian Clune on drums.
Adding extra lift on Hammond B3 is Bruce Bears (Duke Robillard) and Jim Alfredson (Janvia Magness.) Hitting the flight ceiling is Valerie Taylor (Eliza’s sister) plus Kymberli Wright (Straight Ahead) on supersonic backing vocals.
