Withered beauty was started in 1993 by Daniel and Magnus. Tobias joined the band about half a year later. The first demo, "Screams from the forest", was released 1994 and the second, "Through silent skies", in 1995. A few labels got in touch, but nothing really happened. Because of military service and people moving, the band was put on hold for a while... Until Nuclearblast one day called us and wanted us to participate on their "Death... is just the beginning 4" compilation with the song "Immortality is mine". The same song was later used in the "10 years Nuclear Blast" box. This collaboration lead to a deal with N.B. In december'97, the album was recorded in The Abyss studio with Peter Tдgtgren.
