Starpeace is Yoko Ono's 1985 concept album, designed to spread a message of peace around the world as an opposition to Ronald Reagan's "Star Wars" missile defense system. As with most Ono albums it did not chart extensively but the single release of "Hell in Paradise" reached #16 on the US dance charts.

Double Fantasy è il settimo ed ultimo disco in studio registrato in vita da John Lennon.

Pubblicato dalla Geffen Records, a nome John Lennon e Yōko Ono, il 17 novembre 1980 (solo tre settimane prima del suo omicidio), l'album segnò il ritorno sulle scene di Lennon dopo cinque anni di silenzio discografico.

Nonostante le iniziali critiche negative, da parte della stampa specializzata, anche a causa dell'emozione suscitata nel mondo dall'assassinio di Lennon, l'album ottenne successivamente un discreto successo commerciale e fu premiato ai Grammy Awards 1981 come disco dell'anno. Double Fantasy (englisch für „Doppelte Fantasie“) ist das siebte Solo-Studioalbum von John Lennon nach der Trennung der Beatles. Einschließlich der drei Avantgarde-Alben mit seiner Frau Yoko Ono, des Livealbums der Plastic Ono Band und des Kompilationsalbums ist es das insgesamt zwölfte John Lennons und das sechste mit Yoko Ono. Zugleich ist es ihr elftes Album. Es wurde am 17. November 1980 in Großbritannien und den Vereinigten Staaten veröffentlicht.

Drei Wochen nach Veröffentlichung wurde John Lennon vor seiner Wohnung in New York von Mark David Chapman ermordet. Nach seinem Tod stiegen die Verkaufszahlen des Albums, und es erreichte unter anderem in den USA und Großbritannien den ersten Platz der Hitparaden.

Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions is the second of three collaborative experimental albums of avant-garde music by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, released in May 1969 on Zapple, a sub label of Apple. It was a successor to 1968's highly controversial Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins,[4] and was followed by the Wedding Album. The album peaked in the United States at number 174, 50 places lower than the previous album. The album, whose title is a play on words of the BBC Radio show Life with The Lyons, was recorded at Queen Charlotte's Hospital in London and live at Cambridge University, in November 1968 and March 1969, respectively. The Cambridge performance, to which Ono had been invited and to which she brought Lennon, was Lennon and Ono's second as a couple. A few of the album's tracks were previewed by the public, thanks to Aspen magazine.

Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins is the first of three collaborative experimental albums released by John Lennon and Yoko Ono on Apple Records. It was the result of an all-night session of musical experimentation with Yoko in John's home studio at Kenwood, while his wife, Cynthia Lennon, was on holiday in Greece.[6] Lennon and Ono's 1968 debut recording is known not only for its avant-garde content, but also for its cover, which shows the couple naked. This made the album controversial to both the public and the parent record company EMI, which refused to distribute it. In an attempt to avoid controversy, the LP record was sold in a brown paper bag, and distributed by Track and Tetragrammaton in the United Kingdom and the United States respectively. Two Virgins, while failing to chart in the UK, reached number 124 in the US. The album was followed six months later by Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions.

Double Fantasy is the fifth collaborative studio album by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, the seventh studio album released by John Lennon under his own name, and the final one before Lennon's death. Released in November 1980 on Geffen Records, the album marked Lennon's short-lived return to recording music full-time, following his five-year hiatus to raise his son Sean. Recording sessions took place at the Hit Factory in New York City between August and October 1980. The final album features songs from both Lennon and Ono, largely alternating between the two in its track listing. Other tracks recorded by Lennon from the sessions were compiled by Ono for release on Milk and Honey in 1984.

The most distinctive thing about Double Fantasy, the last album John Lennon released during his lifetime, is the very thing that keeps it from being a graceful return to form from the singer/songwriter, returning to active duty after five years of self-imposed exile. As legend has it, Lennon spent those years in domestic bliss, being a husband, raising a baby, and, of course, baking bread. Double Fantasy was designed as a window into that bliss and, to that extent, he decided to make it a joint album with Yoko Ono, to illustrate how complete their union was.
