Tori Amos releases a new album featuring orchestral reworkings of previously released songs on 1 October 2012. Gold Dust will be her thirteenth studio album and was recorded with the Metropole Orchestra, conducted by Jules Buckley.

Having flirted with classical music forms at various points in her 20-year recording career, Tori Amos has finally committed in full. On Night of Hunters, her 12th studio album and, notably, first for Deutsche Grammophon, the Peabody Conservatory prodigy draws on four centuries of European art music (Bach, Schubert, Chopin, Satie, among others), as well as on popular balladry and elements of contemporary musical theater, to create a song cycle by turns intricate and impressionistic, demanding and enchanting. There are no guitars on the album and, save for Amos’s signature Bösendorfer, no percussion instruments. Instead, the album’s 14 songs are arranged for piano, strings, woodwinds, and voice. Doubtless, it is the first and the last of these—Amos’s piano and her voice, more exquisite here than ever—onto which most listeners will immediately fasten.

The new album, Killer, immediately explodes through your speakers with the high-energy “Capt Crunch.” It includes all of the Super Bob elements you’ve grown accustomed to in their live shows, sans four maniacal performers flying around the stage. But trust me, you crank this up, and you’ll be flying around your place. It’s their trademark sound, which is a hyper-hip Rage Against The Machine / Rob Zombie / Nine Inch Nails kind of thing… Kind of, but not really, it’s probably best to slip on some good headphones, clear some space on the floor and as the chorus implores: “Let the mother fuckers know who their fucking with!”

5 сентября 2012 года вышел второй альбом британской группы The ХХ и возглавил чарты Великобритании, Новой Зеландии, Бельгии, Швейцарии, а так же получил положительные отзывы критиков. В США альбом занял дебютное 5 место в Billboard 200 с тиражом 73 000 копий в первую неделю релиза. Работа вошла в десятку Лучших дисков 2012 года в списках газеты The Guardian.

Дебютная работа британской группы The XX вышла 17 августа 2009 года и получила премию Mercury Prize в 2010 году, а так же стала платиновой Великобритании. Запись велась в 2008-2009 г.г. в Лондоне. Кавер на песню "Islands" исполнила Шакира, который включила в свой альбом "Sale El Sol". В целом альбом получил положительные отзывы критиков, было отмечено хорошее гармоничное сочетание элементов пост-панка, инди-попа, современного ритм-н-блюза.
