The Sickness is the debut studio album by the American heavy metal band Disturbed. The album was released on March 7, 2000. The album peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200 chart and it has spent a total of 103 weeks on that chart, as of June 2010.

Fall Out Boy began writing for their sixth studio album in the summer of 2014 while still promoting their previous release Save Rock and Roll (2013) on the tour Monumentour with fellow American band Paramore. Recording began soon after, with the track "Centuries" being one of the first songs to be written and recorded. By late November, all the songs were written and the album was 80% complete but still needed finishing.
