On November 24, Deutsche Grammophon releases Anna Netrebko’s live performance of Richard Strauss’s Four Last Songs with the Staatskapelle Berlin under Daniel Barenboim. The album, which also includes the Austrian composer’s Ein Heldenleben, was recorded at a special benefit concert held in summer 2014 that supported the major renovation of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden theater. Barenboim has served as Music Director of the Staatskapelle Berlin and Staatsoper Berlin since 1992.
