Атмосферу волшебной петербургской ночи дополняют межпесенные истории в фирменном стиле Новика о Петербурге не парадном, но парадоксальном и удивительном. В этот раз Билли и его коллеги из Петербургского джазового актива презентовали новую программу «Джазовые стандарты. Часть 2», приуроченную к релизу одноименного альбома Билли, состоящую из неувядающих хитов джазовой музыки, особенно любимых в Петербурге.

Close-Up is very much a collaboration between altoist David Sanborn and Marcus Miller, who serves as producer, bassist and frequently the lead keyboardist. With the exception of Randy Newman's "Same Girl" and "You Are Everything," all of the music was written or co-composed by Sanborn and Miller. Some selections utilize such additional players as guitarist Hiram Bullock, keyboardist Ricky Peterson and drummer Vinnie Colaiuta. In general, the music fits the formula well, offering Sanborn's emotional sax backed by then-modern electronics and funky rhythms, all of it designed for maximum radio airplay. Sanborn's recording is worthier than most of the output by his many imitators, but one senses that even he knew he could do much better.

Love Songs is a compilation album of romantic songs by American Alto saxophonist David Sanborn and was released in 1995 through Warner Bros. Records.
This album sampler includes romantic tracks from albums released in 1976-1988 such as "Lisa", "Straight To The Heart", and the 1985 version of "The Water Is Wide" with vocalist Linda Ronstadt.

By the time of his third album, altoist David Sanborn's popularity and influence was growing month by month. Most of these numbers feature Sanborn with an enlarged rhythm section (with such studio vets as guitarists Hugh McCracken and David Spinozza, Don Grolnick or Richard Tee on keyboards, vibraphonist Mike Mainieri, bassist Herb Bushler and drummer Steve Gadd). However, "Short Visit" is something special, for Sanborn was joined by what was mostly the Gil Evans Orchestra; Evans even wrote the chart. Otherwise, this is a typical Sanborn release with plenty of danceable rhythms and the focus on his passionate alto.
