After a brief appearance with the Bob Crosby orchestra in 1940, she was part of 11 national hit singles with Les Brown's aggregation, starting in 1945 with the immortal Sentimental Journey, surely one of THE greatest Big Band hits of them all, spending nine weeks at # 1 in March/April/May for Columbia Records. That would be the start of a long association with the label which would also include 20 films from 1949 (Romance On The High Seas) to 1968 (The Ballad Of Josie) - the year she retired from Show Business.
