Paul Brown the two time Grammy winning guitarist released his newest album “One Way Back”. You can feel Brown on every note of this album, it’s all about modern jazz, funk and for everyone’s good surprise a touch of blues. “One Way Back” was released on September 30, 2016, by Woodward Avenue Records, and will bring a big blast on today’s market.

Grammy nominated René Marie takes us to that space on Sound of Red, her first album of all-original material. Set for release via Motema / MustHaveJazz / Membran, the album's 11 songs - some of them autobiographical - provide glimpses of the many small but profound turning points that are a part of an individual life. René's clever songcraft and sensual vocal delivery make those personal moments not only meaningful but enlightening to a broad audience.

Scioneaux, III and Ben Polcer. “Traverse This Universe” features six original compositions and five standards performed by Ms. Sophie Lee’s mainstay Spotted Cat band and showcasing over a dozen talented New Orleans musicians, including Aurora Nealand, Helen Gillet, Charlie Halloran, Khris Royal amongst others. Sophie Lee, transplanted native of the ’90s or not, could be turning into the Leah Chase of trad jazz; not only does she operate Three Muses while holding down a steady gig at the Spotted Cat, she’s preparing to relaunch Seoul Shack in mid-summer at an Uptown location.

Kurt Elling's first holiday album, The Beautiful Day, is truly beautiful and festive in a swinging way! Elling sings these classic Christmas and popular holiday songs with an ease and confidence proving once more that he is the best jazz singer of our time. The masterful talents of Jimi Tenor and his Saxophone playing are on full show here. A collection of afro-jazz tracks that reek of sunshine, its music to ease your disease and brighten up the darkest of days. They’re collaborative works with musicians Tenor has both worked with in the past and here for the first time. As is his usual practice, Tenor plays multiple instruments on the record, though it is his Sax playing which takes the spotlight on this record.

Guitar virtuoso U-Nam is not stingy with bright colors and catchy music. A herald of smooth jazz, he has led in the youngest past the music of George Benson to new heights. With "Surface Level" he returns to his roots, the music of the 80's. Groove Ltd, aka U-Nam and Shannon Kennedy have just released their stunning debut collection, the appropriately titled ‘First Class’. Building on the duo’s previous collaborations, and from the first note of the opening groove drenched title cut, it is a CD that blows the doors off with U-Nam’s edgy guitar, Kennedy’s powerhouse sax and ten fantastic tracks which combine to lay down a calling card for what Groove Ltd is all about.
