Hungarian-born pianist and keyboardist Peter Horvath performs with the who­is­who of jazz such as Victor Bailey, Lenny White, Arturo Sandoval, Randy Brecker, Marcus Miller, and many more. While he is a in demand recording musician on numerous albums his solo career has only seen two albums yet. His debut album Foreign Matter (1995) and his sophomore album Absolute Reality. All original compositions, the music fuses a variety of elements from hard hitting funk jazz with horns, to pieces with latin and straight ahead jazz influences, along with some beautiful mid tempo tunes and ballads, even a solo piano performance to close the album with. The sound represents the musical diversity of the Bay Area along with the influences of years of touring and recording with some of the greats in jazz and beyond.

The band is led by New York-based siblings, Clyde and Gracie Lawrence, accompanied by six other band members. Lawrence blends old school with new sounds, propelling the group on “a mission to write the music they wish “pop” sounded like”. Breakfast integrates pop soul with deeply rooted R&B vibes, all the while pulling classic sounds from musical influences such as The Beatles, Randy Newman, Etta James, Stevie Wonder and Janis Joplin.

Norwegian bassist and composer Mats Eilertsen has a special talent for uniting heterogeneous elements, eliciting deep and touching resonances from them, and letting them sound like a family of beautiful and complementary voices. An impressive example was his recent Memorabilia, a new work commissioned by this year’s Jazz Festival in Trondheim - the town of Eilertsen’s birth - for his trio with Harmen Fraanje (p) and Thomas Strønen (dr) together with the vocals/violin of Trio Mediæval.

In April 2016 the “Bill Evans Band “ toured Europe in support of his latest release “Rise Above” (May 26th, 2016). The band played to sold out venues across Europe. “Rise Above” is Bill’s most accessible release to date (2016). On this, his 24th solo offering, Evans explores rich and haunting vocals from special guest singers, including legend Gregg Allman, Warren Haynes, JJ Grey, Anders Osborne, Murali Coryell, and Josh Dion. “This recording has been an epic journey. My vision from the beginning was to record and write with some of my favorite singers and record a different song with each one of them. The goal was to still make a cohesive and solid performance out of all this music. It went far beyond my expectations. Sheer pleasure start to finish,” says Evans.

Guitarist and composer Dean Brown has always done things his way. Nowhere is that in greater evidence than on ROLAJAFUFU, his fifth album as a leader. The title is a playful acronym that encompasses rock-Latin-jazz-funk-fusion, the universes Brown explores on this diverse, kinetic recording. Brown’s fiercely independent streak is also exemplified by the fact that this album was funded by his denizens of fans worldwide via PledgeMusic. It’s Brown’s first self-released album, after four celebrated previous discs on the ESC label. He initially embarked on a successful solo career in 2001 after establishing himself as one of the most versatile, first-call virtuoso guitarists in the jazz, rock and funk worlds. Just a few of the global icons he’s worked with include Marcus Miller, The Brecker Brothers, Billy Cobham, David Sanborn, Bob James, George Duke, Roberta Flack, Lenny White, and Joe Zawinul.

Incognito registers its 17th studio CD, In Search of Better Days. Besides the familiar smooth funk beats and riffs, there are a few diversions of contemporary jazz ballads, break beats and jazz rock fusion. Imaani’s creamy alto oozes a sweet aroma on “Love Born in Flames,” with its swooping backing vocals and precision brass section. The warm tones of Tony Momrelle wrap around “Love's Revival,” a song that beckons back to seventies’ Earth Wind & Fire. Formed in 1980 and celebrating over 30 years of band history, the global phenomenon behind Mastermind Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick now returns with a fresh and unique sound. The new album includes 14 beautiful songs over a bed of fluid bass lines and irresistible drum grooves which reflect the energy of the band’s live shows. The first single “Goodbye To Yesterday” which will be released digitally on March 30th, features a new addition to Incognito’s line-up. German-born singer/songwriter Mo Brandis convinces with his warm and soulful voice. Also new to Incognito is the outstanding vocalist Natalie Williams, one of the most in-demand jazz vocalists in the UK.

Legendary rock torchbearers Gov’t Mule will release a new archival album entitled The Tel-Star Sessions on August 5, 2016 via Provogue/Mascot Label Group. The album consists of the band’s very first, and never-before-released, demos made in June 1994 at Tel-Star Studios in Bradenton, Florida. These newly mixed and mastered recordings feature the original line-up – Warren Haynes, Allen Woody and Matt Abts – and capture the rawness and excitement of the earliest days of Gov’t Mule. What was originally intended to be the band’s debut album, but then subsequently shelved until now, these 10 songs will be available digitally and as a single CD, as well as 180-gram double-vinyl set including a limited edition version with different artwork and splatter vinyl.
