За что я люблю Напалмов, так это за отсутствие самоповторения в творчестве и, в то же время, за верность своим корням. Данный альбом - яркое тому подтверждение. Так Напалмы не играли никогда: без сомнения, это - самый быстрый их альбом за всю историю группы (включая времена, когда из нынешнего состава не было никого), но в то же время в музыкальном плане это творение намного сложнее Scum и FETO. Конечно же, это - грайндкор, но с элементами дэта. Барабанщик стал выдавать бластинг раза в 1,5 быстрее того, что он делал раньше. Музыка сильно цепляет. Пожалуй, только их сайд-прожект Lock Up обладает сравнимой агрессией и... мелодичностью (если это можно так назвать).Ну, может еще Nasum. Вокал Барни остается и по сей день самым агрессивным в экстремальном металле.

Этот альбом Napalm Death сильно отличается от дэтового "Harmony Corruption": музыка представляет из себя чистокровный грайндкор, пусть и не такой забойный, как на первых релизах группы. Песни более длинные, но в мощи они от этого не теряют. Барни Гринуэй - хоть и не Ли Дориан, но со своей работой справился на отлично. Темп музыки и ее энергичность тоже в норме. Альбом получился очень драйвовый - если вы любите такую риииальную тяжесть, то не упустите возможности послушать "Utopia Banished": это настоящая классика жанра от его родоначальников.

The album features a concert from the 5 August 1996 at the Liquid Rooms, Tokyo. It was recorded as a bootleg and after the band received the recording, they found it was good enough to release it as an actual and official live album. In the inlay of the album the band wrote:The official release of this album was prompted by the fact that we found anonymous bootleg tapes of the '96 Tokyo show coming from Japan, and felt that the recording captured the true uncompromising live spirit of Napalm Death.

Пожалуй, самый классический альбом от Napalm Death. Абсолютно верное и правильное определение. Лучше не скажешь. В 1990 году Напалмы наконец решили сыграть так, как потом будет играть большое количество команд в дэт метале. Просто все эти классические основы уже переиграны на несколько рядов. Действительно, именно здесь группа сделала большой уклон в ту музыку, которую развивала в более индастриальном и прогрессивном ключе все 90-ые годы. Один из самых знаменитых классических релизов в метале. Абсолютно первый death metal в старухе Европе, который раньше никто еще не играл.

The Score – An Epic Journey is a soundtrack album by the Dutch symphonic metal formation Epica, released in 2005. It is the film soundtrack to Joyride, a Dutch production.
Most of the songs of the album are instrumental, except for four songs. The three songs that do feature the singing voice of Simone Simons ("Trois Vierges", "Solitary Ground", "Quietus") are different versions of songs from the album Consign to Oblivion, which was released earlier the same year.
The album was originally supposed to be released on 8 September. After two delays, this date changed to 20 September 2005. The first samples of The Score were given to Jimmy Lim by Mark Jansen in Madrid.

The Phantom Agony is the first full-length studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Epica. It was released in 2003 by the Dutch label Transmission Records. It is the first album recorded by guitarist Mark Jansen after his departure from the band After Forever. On this album, Jansen continues with the collection of songs that make up The Embrace That Smothers. The first three parts can be found on Prison of Desire (2000), After Forever's debut album, and the following three parts can be found on The Divine Conspiracy (2007), Epica's third album. These songs deal with the dangers of organized religion.
The album was re-released on 23 March 2013, which coincided with Epica’s 10th anniversary Retrospect show, as a 2-disc expanded edition by Epica’s former record label Transmission Records.

General response to Requiem for the Indifferent was positive. AllMusic stated that the album "is a typically elaborate and ambitious affair, incorporating copious amounts of choral work and classical arrangements into the band's neatly established blend of goth, progressive, power, and symphonic metal." Natalie Zed of About.com staff considers Requiem for the Indifferent "a transitional album for the band", which tries to expand their musical range experimenting with "weird" riffing and new combination of vocals, while "losing none of the richness that has gained them fans."

Dutch symphonic metal legends Epica have always been the model of consistency throughout their career. Each album has been bigger, more grandiose and dare I say… epic than their last with very few missteps along the way. With their latest album “The Holographic Principle”, the band has maintained their usual level of excellence, and then some.

Requiem for the Indifferent is the fifth studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Epica. It was released on 9 March 2012. It was the final album to feature original member Yves Huts on bass guitar.

According to Mark Jansen, "This title refers to the end of an era. Mankind can no longer stick their head in the sand for the things that are happening around us. We are facing many challenges. There is an enormous tension between different religions and cultures, wars, natural disasters and a huge financial crisis, which is getting out of control. More than ever we will need each other to overcome these problems. As we are all connected; the universe, earth, nature, animals and human beings, this period in time will be the prelude to the end for those who still don't want to, or simply won't see it. A Requiem for the Indifferent but also a possibility for a new beginning with great new chances!"

Design Your Universe è il quarto album in studio del gruppo musicale olandese Epica, pubblicato il 16 ottobre 2009 dalla Nuclear Blast.
Si tratta del primo album registrato insieme al chitarrista Isaac Delahaye, il quale ha sostituito Ad Sluijter, nonché il primo in cui il batterista Ariën van Weesenbeek ha registrato alcuni growl aggiuntivi in accompagnamento a Jansen, oltre ad aver scritto alcuni riff di chitarra e ad eseguire alcune parti parlate.
