Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions is the second of three collaborative experimental albums of avant-garde music by John Lennon and Yoko Ono, released in May 1969 on Zapple, a sub label of Apple. It was a successor to 1968's highly controversial Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins,[4] and was followed by the Wedding Album. The album peaked in the United States at number 174, 50 places lower than the previous album. The album, whose title is a play on words of the BBC Radio show Life with The Lyons, was recorded at Queen Charlotte's Hospital in London and live at Cambridge University, in November 1968 and March 1969, respectively. The Cambridge performance, to which Ono had been invited and to which she brought Lennon, was Lennon and Ono's second as a couple. A few of the album's tracks were previewed by the public, thanks to Aspen magazine.

Unfinished Music No. 1: Two Virgins is the first of three collaborative experimental albums released by John Lennon and Yoko Ono on Apple Records. It was the result of an all-night session of musical experimentation with Yoko in John's home studio at Kenwood, while his wife, Cynthia Lennon, was on holiday in Greece.[6] Lennon and Ono's 1968 debut recording is known not only for its avant-garde content, but also for its cover, which shows the couple naked. This made the album controversial to both the public and the parent record company EMI, which refused to distribute it. In an attempt to avoid controversy, the LP record was sold in a brown paper bag, and distributed by Track and Tetragrammaton in the United Kingdom and the United States respectively. Two Virgins, while failing to chart in the UK, reached number 124 in the US. The album was followed six months later by Unfinished Music No. 2: Life with the Lions.

John Lennon Anthology is a four-CD box set of home demos, studio outtakes and other previously unreleased material recorded by John Lennon over the course of his solo career from "Give Peace a Chance" in 1969 up until the 1980 sessions for Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey. The anthology was divided by its compiler and co-producer, Yoko Ono, into four discs representing four eras in Lennon's solo career: "Ascot", "New York City", "The Lost Weekend" and "Dakota". John Lennon Anthology reached number 62 in the United Kingdom and number 99 in the United States, where it went gold. A one-disc distillation of the highlights of the box set was released as Wonsaponatime. Many of the tracks were edited down from their versions on John Lennon Anthology. Wonsaponatime failed to reach the US charts but peaked at number 76 in the UK.

Over all, this album is a rich blend of disco funk brewed chilled-out-ness, like a post-party or hangover morning relaxing blend of songs.

Dave Lee (aka Jakatta) sets out a wonderful set of tracks that flow effortlessly here and without jarring the ride. The inclusion of vocalists Seal, Beth Hirsch, Ty, and Linda Clifford works a real treat alongside the carefully chosen samples.

Of course, the American Dream track and its piano line instantly gives us a huge highlight, and its regular nod from other tracks helps to transfer some of this admiration across the album. American Dream doesn’t stand alone here though, with My Vision, One Fine Day, and The Other World all sounding wonderful. There’s little here to pick holes in, but Feelin’ Blue does feel like it just about strikes in at the ‘it’s okay’ level.

This edition of the album was seamlessly blended together, and that works perfectly for such a (mostly) chilled out album – allowing it to flow on a journey through, ending with the ‘mega mix’ and alternate version with Seal. It’s definitely an album worth hearing.

This 13 track mixed CD opens with the teasing American Dream (Intro), which gently slides into your ears with glimmers of that delicate sequence composed by Thomas Newman that is prevalent throughout the big hit from later in the album.

Then it’s It Will Be, which is a wonderfully wafting track that utilises (or at least mimicks) the speaking clock, who is seemingly desperate what the time will be in a moment. Perhaps we don’t care, as the layers of synths and guitars gurgle and drift in and out. A piano joins in alongside a beat that helps us to keep some semblance of time, but to be honest this is a wonderful drift of sound that we don’t really want to watch the clock.

That’s flows into My Vision featuring Seal, again with the signature piano notes from American Dream, but then a beat drops in with Swati Natekar‘s vocals giving way to Seal’s. The tempo increases and Seal’s vocals give a wonderful soulful contrast to the dance beats. The synths keep a soft distance as the layers swirl over each other. This is a great track, and it gave Jakatta and Seal a #6 hit in the UK.

In July 1978, Waters presented the concepts and played demos of The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking as well as what was then titled Bricks in the Wall, which became The Wall, to his bandmates in Pink Floyd, asking them to decide which should be a group album, and which should be his solo album. After a long debate, they decided that they preferred the concept of Bricks in the Wall, even though their manager at the time, Steve O'Rourke, thought that Pros and Cons was a better-sounding concept, and David Gilmour deemed Pros and Cons stronger musically.

Femme Fatale is the seventh studio album recorded by American singer Britney Spears. It was released on March 25, 2011 through Jive Records and was her last album with the label before they shutdown later that year as she was moved to RCA Records. Musically, Spears wanted to make a "fresh-sounding" and "fierce dance album", thus incorporating dance-pop, electropop, EDM, and synth-pop styles with elements of dubstep, techno, and electro in its sound. Spears began working on the album during the second leg of her tour The Circus Starring Britney Spears (2009), while also contributing to her second greatest hits album The Singles Collection (2009). The singer collaborated with various producers on Femme Fatale, including Max Martin, Dr. Luke, William Orbit, Fraser T Smith, Rodney Jerkins, Bloodshy & Avant, will.i.am, and Stargate.
