After winning the title of champion in the reality show The Sing-Off, Pentatonix was signed to a record label, enabling them to pursue their goal of a musical career. The group promoted their then-upcoming EP through YouTube videos with covers of pop songs such as "Somebody That I Used to Know" by Gotye featuring Kimbra, "Gangnam Style" by PSY, and "We Are Young" by Fun, which went viral.

Released in 2013, PTX, Vol. 2 is the third EP from the Arlington, Texas-based a cappella ensemble Pentatonix, who won season three of NBC's The Sing-Off vocal competition. As the follow-up to the group's 2012 EP PTX, Vol. 1 and holiday-themed PTXmas, PTX, Vol. 2 features more of the band's a cappella versions of contemporary pop hits. Included are such covers as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Can't Hold Us," Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding's "I Need Your Love," and even a Daft Punk medley that combines the songs "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger," "Digital Love," "One More Time," and "Get Lucky." Also included are several of the band's unique original songs, including "Natural Disaster, "Love Again," and "Run to You."

Listen is the sixth studio album by French DJ and producer David Guetta, released on 21 November 2014. It features collaborations with artists from the R&B, hip hop, alternative rock and pop worlds such as Sam Martin, Emeli Sandé, The Script, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Nico & Vinz, Ryan Tedder the lead singer of pop rock band OneRepublic, Sia, Magic!, Bebe Rexha, South African male choral group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ms. Dynamite, Elliphant, Birdy, Jaymes Young, Sonny Wilson, Vassy, and Skylar Grey. Angels of the Apocalypse is the second full-length album by Timo Tolkki's metal opera project Avalon, released on May 16, 2014 in Europe and four days later in North America.
It is the second part of the trilogy created by Tolkki, with the previous album The Land of New Hope being the third part of the story.
As with the previous effort, several heavy metal singers were invited to play the characters of the story of the album, with female vocalist Elize Ryd of Amaranthe reprising her role and Floor Jansen (Nightwish, ReVamp) playing the main character. The rest of the cast includes Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire, Angra), David DeFeis (Virgin Steele), Simone Simons (Epica), Caterina Nix (solo Chilean singer who is having her debut album produced by Timo Tolkki) and Zachary Stevens (ex-Savatage, Circle II Circle).
