Incognito registers its 17th studio CD, In Search of Better Days. Besides the familiar smooth funk beats and riffs, there are a few diversions of contemporary jazz ballads, break beats and jazz rock fusion. And there are plenty of vocalists in Incognito’s cast who bring the better in Better Days. Imaani’s creamy alto oozes a sweet aroma on “Love Born in Flames,” with its swooping backing vocals and precision brass section. The warm tones of Tony Momrelle wrap around “Love's Revival,” a song that beckons back to seventies’ Earth Wind & Fire. Vanessa Haynes pours her heart out on “Just Say Nothing,” another seventies knee-deep-in-funk jam anchored by the clavinet, and “Love Be The Messenger,” punctuated with marching snares by Joao Caetano.

Surreal is also the number of albums by the British Jazz/Funk/Soul band. The new album will be the 16th studio album by Incognito. Formed in 1980 and celebrating over 30 years of band history, the global phenomenon behind Mastermind Jean-Paul "Bluey" Maunick now returns with a fresh and unique sound. The new album includes 14 beautiful songs over a bed of fluid bass lines and irresistible drum grooves which reflect the energy of the band’s live shows. The first single “Goodbye To Yesterday” which will be released digitally on March 30th, features a new addition to Incognito’s line-up. German-born singer/songwriter Mo Brandis convinces with his warm and soulful voice. Also new to Incognito is the outstanding vocalist Natalie Williams, one of the most in-demand jazz vocalists in the UK.

STARGAZERYare a new melodic metal band from Finland. The band sounds very dynamic. The songs are filled with memorable hooks and riffs that you can really get into. The melodies are very catchy and engaging to the listener. I like the fact that they picked a song by BLACK SABBATH to cover that didn’t feature OZZY or DIO. I have always loved the Tony Martin era of BLACK SABBATH and they did a wonderful job covering “Headless Cross”. This is a solid heavy metal album.

“Heavy Blues” begins with an aggressively crunchy, “American Woman”-esque declamation before Bachman’s voice — as famous from his work with Bachman-Turner Overdrive as that guitar sound was with the great Guess Who hit — takes this song back toward more accustomed environs.

Looking On is the third album by The Move, released in the UK in December 1970. The LP is their first to feature Jeff Lynne, their first containing entirely original compositions, and the first on the Fly label, its catalogue number being FLY 1. It includes both their 1970 singles, the Top 10 hit "Brontosaurus," released on Regal Zonophone in March, and the less successful "When Alice Comes Back To The Farm," released on Fly in October.
