Legendary Hard Blues Rockers Return with Black Dawn! Black Dawn is the latest release from Cactus. With a current lineup that includes classic members Carmine Appice and Jim McCarty, plus the additions of Randy Pratt, Jimmy Kunes and Pete Bremy, the group has come out of nowhere, and given fans a band new album! This is the first Cactus release in several years, and needless to say, this fan was excited to give it a listen. Cactus was originally spawned from the ashes of Vanilla Fudge, the legendary psychedelic act that feature Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice, but took things in more of a bluesy hard rock direction than that band. Disappointingly, Bogert has had to retire from touring in recent years, but Appice is still a lasting presence in this and many bands.

The master of that special sax “groan” and serious funk, household smooth jazz artist Richard Elliot, is again knocking ‘em dead with his latest release Summer Madness. The man simply never misses. Here on Summer Madness, after opening with a slammin’ cover of Spyro Gyra’s “Cachaca,” Elliot proceeds to coax his way into our listening sensibilities and capture our every musical sense with his classic combination of funk, soul, jazz, and just being Elliot. Tracks like the mid-tempo “Breakin’ It Down,” the killer cover of Carlos Santana’s classic “Europa” and the ultra-funky “West Coast Jam,” among others here, are simply the typical slayers always offered by the saxman. No one does it quite like this giant funkster.

Sony Music Masterworks releases The Good Life – the album from renowned German jazz trumpeter, Till Brönner. Featuring bassist John Clayton, guitarist Anthony Wilson and pianist Larry Goldings, The Good Life will be released worldwide September 2, 2016 digitally, on CD and vinyl. It will also be released as a super deluxe boxset including special photobook with CD, download code and vinyl LP.

Candy-O is the second studio album by the American rock band The Cars, released in 1979. On this album, the Cars take a small step to the left. While remaining a solidly mainstream new wave band (as they would throughout their career), the group gets a bit artier on Candy-O, with impressive results. Like many of their peers, the band began to accentuate the angular, electronic/futuristic aspect of their sound, exploiting its inorganic quality for maximum irony and detachment.

The Last Hero is the fifth studio album by the rock band Alter Bridge, released on October 7, 2016, by Napalm Records worldwide except in North America, where it was released on the band's own vanity label. It was produced by longtime collaborator Michael "Elvis" Baskette. The album's first single, "Show Me a Leader", was released digitally and to rock radio on July 26, 2016.

Vangelis has revealed details of upcoming album Rosetta, inspired by the European Space Agency mission of the same name. The 13-track suite was inspired by the 12-year operation that landed the Philae module on Comet P67 in 2014. The programme will end on September 30, when the Rosetta parent vehicle is slow-crashed on to the comet.
