19 мая группа BrainStorm выпустила новый студийный альбом «7 Steps of Fresh Air». Пластинка была записана в легендарной берлинской «Hansa Studio» в сотрудничестве с продюсером Алексом Сильвой (Alex Silva). В альбом вошли десять песен, три из которых на русском и одна – на родном для группы латышском языке. Остальные песни англоязычные.
Выбор продюсера для работы над пластинкой был абсолютно очевиден. В сотрудничестве с Сильвой был выпущен альбом «Four Shores» (2006) и песни «Colder» и «Выходные» из альбома «A Day Before Tomorrow» (2003). Алекс Сильва известен сотрудничеством с такими артистами, как Мик Джаггер, Марианна Фейтфулл, Джон Бон Джови, Герберт Грёнемайер, Manic Street Preachers и Suede.
