Na het album ‘Ab Ovo‘ uit 2013 en de ietwat negatieve recensies, hebben ze toch doorgezet en het opnieuw geprobeerd. En ik moet zeggen dat dat wel aardig is gelukt. Gelukkig zingt Wojciech Ciuraj in het Engels in tegenstelling tot het vorige album. Al is het wel leuk om te melden dat de band er een 2cd van heeft gemaakt. CD1 is in het Engels en CD2 in de moedertaal Pools.

What a surprise being a lover of all music of the hard rockin' 70's variety especially power trios I was blown away by how authentic and killer this band sounds...while labels like Century Media, Nuclear Blast and Metal Blade are falling over themselves to release albums by bands that sound retro...leave it to the Grooveyard and Joe (The Groovedawg) to deliver a totally authentic sounding retro power trio of the highest order...the vocals are very bluesy in the Paul Rodgers style to my ears...and the guitar riffs are right in tune with classic bands like Zeppelin, James Gang, Nazareth, Trapeze, Humble Pie, Free, Cactus...but what this has...to my ears anyway that a lot of the other retro bands lack is the authentic warm crisp punchy well separated analog production...yes really liking this one.

The recording is made up of songs from the three albums released during Benoît David's time in the band: Beneath the Veil of Winter's Face, One Among the Living and The World is a Game. It is the last album David recorded with the band before leaving in autumn 2013.

Hyperdrive marks a new era for Knight Area. The long running Dutch progressive rock band had previously released four studio albums and toured Europe and USA extensively, performing at all major prog rock festivals. 1n 2012 the band welcomed guitarist Mark Bogert as well as legendary bassist Peter Vink (Q65, Finch, Ayreon) into the fold.
