Испанские мясники Haemorrhage вот уже добрый десяток лет радуют фэнов и раздражают поборников нравственности своими gore-grind опусами, сколь отвратительными, столь же веселыми и безбашенными. Второй по счету в их дискографии полноформатник содержит почти сорок минут веселых разухабистых танцев над бездыханным телом. По сравнению с дебютным релизом, "Grume" выглядит менее мрачным и более бодрым и, при этом, столь же мясным. Собственно с этого диска и можно вести отсчет – здесь Haemorrhage стали тем, чем они остаются до сих пор.

Да, это мелодичный дэт-метал, но не стиль "Melodic death" как музыкальное клише и поджанр, а именно просто МЕЛОДИЧНЫЙ ДЭТ, причем местами мелодичность эта просто зашкаливает. Темы в самом деле есть красивые настолько, что не будь тут скриминга и жирных перегруженных гитар, звучи всё это полегче - альбом мог бы приобрести популярность у ценителей более традиционных форм металла.

Очень мощный альбом! По стилю он где-то в промежутке между техно-спид-трэшем и дэтом. В первых двух композициях скорости запредельные. Третья, «One Step over the Line» - относительно медленная, тягучая и мрачная сага с истеричным рыком Энджелриппера. Соло - душа замирает. Остальные песни разнятся от очень быстрых до среднетемповых. Завершает сей мрачный опус кайфовая «Reincarnation» - ни на что не похожая из творчества SODOM.

Собрано здесь всего понемногу: викинг-метал, вполне заурядный — то тут, то там; эмбиент-блэковые вещи с зацикленным повторением фразы, криками и гудениями — 2 шт.; фольковая песенка — одна всего (жаль, неплохо получилось); полуакустические номера — тоже одна, плюс вкрапления кое-где; а также перезаписанная песня "Lonely" — отличная, но слегка потерявшаяся здесь. Всё это на французском языке, что есть ново, но абсолютно без гипнотических бластбитов, присущих всем остальным альбомам, и до боли мало высокого протяжного вокала того типа, от которого мурашки по коже.

Incantation – одна из самых брутальных команд, бороздивших просторы заокеанского дэт-метала в начале 90-х. В смысле тяжести их дебютный «Onward to Golgotha» запросто укладывает на лопатки творчество друзей-конкурентов из Suffocation или Immolation. Пусть по технической составляющей команда Джона МакЭнти и уступает вышеназванным коллективам (материал на диске прямолинейней, «забойней» и не столь быстрый), зато ничто не отвлекает от главного зрелища. А именно – как дэт-металические небеса разверзаются и непрекращающимся потоком (это не преувеличение) обрушивают на слушателя град, громы и молнии – в смысле, очереди бластбита, жутко низкие, рыхлые гитарные риффы, угрюмый «рассыпчатый» гроул и тому подобные радости.
