Фирменный грайнд Carcass значительно тяжелее и брутальнее своих конкурентов по жанру; неудачи со звукорежиссурой – ерунда, и не повод снижать оценку. Сочный нойз был нужен этому альбому до зарезу! Почему? Потому что это не просто грайнд. Это, друзья мои, гораздо круче и поэтичнее – GORE grind. Иначе говоря, для того, чтобы завоевать репутацию радикальных патологоанатомов, точнее, раздвинуть границы обывательского сознания, группе категорически нельзя было мыть инструменты (скальпели, щипцы, ножницы и пр.), им нужно было быть грязными и мерзкими на звук, т.е. остаться максимально экстремальными и, как следствие, андерграундными.

По мне, так сделано очень удачно - красивый неоклассический симфо-пауэр. Немного напоминает Rhapsody, но мне понравилось гораздо больше, чем пафосные итальяшки с их киндер-металлом. Есть много красивых быстрых вещей с великолепными клавишными аранжировками и мужским хором на подпевках, лирическая баллада Your Symphony и самая изюминка альбома - 11-минутная Dies Irae, перепевка Моцарта. А в самом конце альбома затаился безымянный бонус-трек, напоминающий Therion. Хороший альбом, но тем не менее высший балл ему не поставлю - уж больно песни однообразны...

Некоторые люди могут заявить что, мол, чем чаще та или иная группа выпускает новые релизы, тем быстрее коллектив исписывается или скатывается в самокопирование. В данном случае сие утверждение ни на йоту не соответствует истине и, несмотря на периодичность, музыка этого коллектива не приедается и не стареет со временем. Вот и здесь мы имеем крепкий и правильно сбалансированный альбом, который даже спустя 6 лет слушается мною с нескрываемым интересом.

Такой альбом может быть один раз в несколько лет.За долгие годы музыкального молчания у лидера группы скопилось масса идей.Воплощение этих идей с традиционным саундом "Destruction" дал неповторимый диск .Энергию музыки на альбоме можно сравнить только с энергией огня.Чувствуется,что музыканты хотят бороться с антихристом до конца.Получился настоящий немецкий треш с индивидуальностью "Destruction".Особенность-в музыке присутсвует также спид-металл.Группа не занимается самопародией,она просто продолжает играть свою музыку.

А что уж говорить об оригинальности его голоса, который также хорошо подошёл музыке группы! Как видно из обложки альбома – скелета наглухо заморозили, что нашло своё отражение и в музыкальном плане: то есть очень быстрое, чуть ли не пауэр металическое начало, далее резкий сброс скорости до среднего темпа, и в последствии размеренный ход, иногда сменяющийся на баллады – такая схема построения и стала решающим выбором Акселя.

Mind Games is the fourth studio album by English musician John Lennon. It was recorded at Record Plant Studios in New York in summer 1973. The album was released in the US on 29 October 1973 and in the UK on 16 November 1973. It was Lennon's first self-produced recording without help from Phil Spector. Like his previous album, the politically topical and somewhat abrasive Some Time in New York City, Mind Games received mixed reviews upon release. It reached number 13 in the UK and number 9 in the US, where it was certified gold.

Preceded by the single "Woman Is the Nigger of the World", which caused controversy due to its title, Some Time in New York City received scathing reviews on release and performed poorly commercially. Reviewers were especially critical of its politically charged content. Zappa was critical of Lennon and Ono's handling of the recordings of the Mothers performance, eventually releasing his own version of the performance on Playground Psychotics (1992). Some Time in New York City was reissued on compact disc in 2005 as a single album, removing several of the Live Jam songs while adding other non-album singles, and again on CD in 2010 in its original double album format.

Recording for the album's studio portion took place between December 1971 and March 1972 while the live portion, released as Live Jam, was recorded on 15 December 1969 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London for a UNICEF charity concert and on 6 June 1971 at Fillmore East in New York City. Musicians who contributed to the 1969 performance include Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Nicky Hopkins, Keith Moon and Klaus Voormann, while the 1971 performance features Frank Zappa and his band the Mothers of Invention.

A double album, it includes backing by the American rock band Elephant's Memory.
