It spawned four singles: "All This Time", "Mad About You", "Why Should I Cry for You" and "The Soul Cages".[citation needed] The title track won Sting the first Grammy Award for Best Rock Song in 1992.

The title of the album is a play on that of The Police' 1983 album Synchronicity.

It was also released on LaserDisc, in which it is a music video compilation.

The Very Best of... Sting & The Police is a compilation album issued by Sting, and released by A&M Records. The album originally featured one new track, a remix of the 1978 song "Roxanne" by rap artist Sean "Puffy" Combs. The album was reissued in 1998 by PolyGram International with "Russians" removed and 3 additional tracks, "Seven Days", "Fragile", and "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da", being added.
