Speakerboxxx/The Love Below is the fifth studio album by American hip hop duo Outkast. It was released on September 23, 2003, by LaFace Records. Issued as a double album, its playtime of more than two hours is distributed over solo albums from each of the group's members. Big Boi's Speakerboxxx is a Southern hip hop album with a P-Funk influence, while André 3000's The Love Below features psychedelic, pop, funk, electro, and jazz styles.

Mama's Gun is the second studio album by American singer Erykah Badu. It was recorded between 1999 and 2000 at Electric Lady Studios in New York and released on November 21, 2000, by Motown Records. It was released on October 4, 2010, by Atlantic and Elektra Records and was made available to listen before its official release on September 24, 2010. After the release of the EP It's Better If You Don't Understand, Mars's writing and production team, the Smeezingtons, began working on the album with Needlz, Supa Dups and Jeff Bhasker as producers. The album title was chosen to reflect simplicity and appeal to males and females.

Ignore the silly "Mr. D.J." intro and you'll discover that Haddon is a bright new presence in the realm of hip-hop gospel who seeks to blend old-school musical values with funky modern production. The thumping grooves and smooth backing vocals behind Haddon's passionate pleas on "D.D." summarize the overall vibe here. Secular audiences can enjoy the beats and his rangy, soulful voice, but he's definitely Christ-centered in his themes. He's not always overly preachy. On the dreamy light funk ballad "Ain't Got Nothing," he's a little more general in his spiritual message, simply explaining that material gain without true love is meaningless.

The Score is the second and final studio album by the hip hop trio Fugees, released worldwide February 13, 1996 on Columbia Records. The album features a wide range of samples and instrumentation, with many aspects of alternative hip hop that would come to dominate the hip hop music scene in the mid-late 1990s. The Score's production was handled mostly by the Fugees themselves and Jerry Duplessis, with additional production from Salaam Remi, John Forté, Diamond D, and Shawn King. Most versions of the album feature four bonus tracks, including three remixes of "Fu-Gee-La", and a short acoustic Wyclef Jean solo track entitled "Mista Mista".

The song was written in collaboration with Lori Lieberman, who recorded the song in late 1971. The song has since been covered by numerous artists, including the version by the Fugees, which won the 1997 Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

A word for divas in waiting: beware. Fairy tales are fine, but in the world of music it's a buyer's market for princesses. With so many fairy godmothers working overtime to make sure that their charge wins the prize, it's often down to an indefinable "oomph" that vaunts one pumpkin carriage past the rest. Take Eboni Foster as a case in point: She's got the looks, the pipes, and the credentials (having played with Nuttin' Nyce), but no curtain call. Just What You Want is a good R&B effort, but one ultimately found wanting.

The Great Depression is the fourth studio album by American rapper DMX. The album was released October 23, 2001, by Ruff Ryders Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings. It was DMX's fourth consecutive album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. 440,000 copies were sold within the first week of the album's release, and it was certified Platinum in December of that year. The album demonstrated his continually strong allegiance with the Ruff Ryders with singles such as "Who We Be" and "We Right Here".
