Shakra are not new comers to the metal scene like some may think. In fact they are very well established and releasing their 11th studio album on November 24, 2017. Shakra have been around since 1997 and toured with some big names in the music industry including HammerFall and Stratovarius. Snakes and Ladders looks to carry them right back to where they left off two years ago when they released High Noon.

August 4, 2017 – David Crosby is set to release his new solo album Sky Trails – his third solo album in four years - on September 29th via BMG. The folk rock legend will support the release with a 25-date tour that starts October 30th in Chicago, IL. The band backing Crosby will feature his son James Raymond on keys, Mai Agan on bass, Steve DiStanislao on drums, Jeff Pevar on guitar and Michelle Willis on keys and vocals.

The original Ten Years After, featuring the late Alvin Lee, formed in 1967 and made their mark at Woodstock in 1969. They racked up staggering sales in the 70s while staying below the radar of iconography, before splitting in 1974. After a series of revivals, founder members Chick Churchill and Ric Lee were moved to re-form the band following Lee’s death in 2013, taking on board new members Chris Hodgkinson (bass) and Marcus Bonfanti (vocals, guitar). This album is in no sense a departure from their old style – they owe us nothing new – and is a showcase for their long-matured blues, rock and jazz blend, with tracks like Iron Horse, Up In Smoke and the engagingly mournful Stoned Alone full of seasoned virtuosity.

It's a shame that only one side of Elvis' multi-faceted talent is remembered 25 years on from his death but there is so much more to the millennium's greatest performer than garish jump suits and shaky legs. Shades of Deep Purple is the debut studio album by the English rock band Deep Purple, released in July 1968 on Tetragrammaton in the United States and in September 1968 on Parlophone in the United Kingdom. The band, initially called Roundabout, was the idea of former Searchers drummer Chris Curtis, who recruited Jon Lord and Ritchie Blackmore before leaving the project. The Mk. I line-up of the band was completed by vocalist/frontman Rod Evans, along with bassist Nick Simper and drummer Ian Paice, in March 1968.

Leon Russell‘s final studio album will be posthumously released later this year. Russell completed On A Distant Shore shortly before his death, last November. Rolling Stone have shared the album’s lead single “Love This Way”, which you can hear below.

Van Morrison has long expressed his disinterest in chasing trends. He doggedly pursues his own muse, and in recent decades that’s resulted in albums that mostly stick to his trademark blend of jazz, folk, and Celtic soul. Roll with the Punches is an exception to that rule, his most distinctive album since 2006’s country covers collection Pay the Devil. Like on that album, he largely abandons his tried-and-true approach to delve headlong into a roots-music idiom—this time, electric blues and R&B.
