The Asian metal scene has been gaining a lot of attention and recognition around the world, that´s the reason why I will talk about this band, Anthelion. I discovered this band because of Chthonic, from Taiwan too, I like both bands.
This is their first full-length album released in 2007 and released by Ultimate Music.
The sound is very similar to bands like COF, Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Carach Angren, they combine heavy parts with some symphonic parts, piano, synths with and heavy guitar riffs. I like the work of Zeist in this album, scales, some tremolo picking and melodic parts, Ken made a great work with the sound of the bass, you can hear some great riffs out of it, it´s great because sometimes the bass just pass unnoticed in other BM bands, the voice of Code is very mature, it gives a dark ambient to the songs, in some parts he screams and in other parts he growls, great combination, and Troy made a great work with the drums, blast beats, great breakdowns, double pedal parts, everything fit so good.
In resume, they have a great proposal, an unique and original sound, if you like symphonic black metal this is it, listen to them you won´t be disappointed.

Anthelion are a Taiwanese metal band, known for drawing out and combining the darkness and the brightness of many themes in dramatic ways. As well as having the impact of traditional heavy metal, their music unites sadly beautiful piano melodies with magnificent orchestrational elements. The current members are Code, Zeist, Troy and Siniz.

Quarterpast - дебютный альбом голландской группы (название в честь культуры народов Майя) MaYaN, которая по сути является сайд-проектом Марка Янсена (основатель Epica и экс-участник After Forever) и клавишника Джека Дриссена (After Forever).

Вокальные партии исполняет целая плеяда известных музыкантов: Марк Янсен - гроул и скрим; Ариен ванн Везенбек - гроул; Джек Дриссен - скрим; Симона Симонс (Epica) - меццо-сопрано; Фло Янсен (ReVamp, ex-After Forever) - сопрано; Хеннинг Бэйз (Sons Of Seasons) - чистый вокал, Аманда Соммервиль - спокен ворд и итальянская оперная исполнительница Лаура Макри.
Музыка MaYaN представляет собой симбиоз из Death, Black и Progressive Metal, украшенного симфоническими оркестровыми аранжировками.

This time, featuring a brand new line-up and an extremely powerful track list. “Written in Blood” has an awesome mix of thrashing, screaming vocals with ripping guitar riffs and pounding drums as heard in “Dr. Death”, “Six Feet Under” and “We Arise”. This, combined with the heavier, more melodic songs “A Blackened Resurrection”, “The Bell Of The Reaper” and “In Cold Blood”, gives the album another dimension. It’s both harder and faster than the latest releases – exploding with energy, it won’t leave anyone untouched!

Schtiel («Штиль») - песня, записанная вокалистом и гитаристом группы Rammstein на вечеринке «Харлей» в Москве. Является кавер-версией песни «Штиль» группы «Ария». Сингл был выпущен в 2003 году в честь 100 летия Harley-Davidson. Поскольку данная запись не была согласована с рекорд-лейблом Universal Records, диск был опубликован как «сольный проект» Тилля Линдеманна и Рихарда Круспе. Однако музыканты всё равно получили выговор от своего лейбла. В результате сингл был причислен к пиратским и запрещён к массовому изданию.

Polish prog act Riverside have been around since 2003 and have released six records and several EPs. Atmospheric, dynamic and melancholic are perfect words in describing their newest release Love, Fear and the Time Machine . It's quite similar to their first album, only with a more mature sound, stronger techninal complexity and a wider range of studio techniques and instruments.

Royal Hunt´s 13th studio album – Devil´s Dozen – stays very true to the original, larger-than-life Royal Hunt sound: with imaginative instrumentation, intricate arrangements, soaring vocals and catchy, massive choruses. Yet the addition of classical musicians/instruments and contemporary, modern day production elements twist the outcome into a unique sonic palette.The band holds tight to the format which defined rock – an album chockfull of carefully crafted songs, recorded and mixed by a team of professionals who know how to combine crystal clear sonics with a weighty punch. Royal Rock… no substitutes!

Fortunately, the unique atmosphere which drew me to the debut, is carried through here, and explored further. The personal lyrics, laced with self-doubt, possess a deep sense of melancholy and fully bloom when Timo Kotipelto, of Stratovarius fame, belts them out with an impressive amount of passion. Passion is really what makes the music work, as it is all-embracing and completely convincing. I find that the whole album emits a radiance of melancholy, deep and soulful.

Однако не ждите от альбома бесшабашных боевиков на стыке Poison и AC/DC, которыми славилась вышеупомянутая классика – “Dic.Nii.Lan.Daft.Erd.Ark” вышел очень продуманным и где-то даже взрослым. И несмотря на иронию, насквозь пронизывающую практически все тексты альбома, посвящены они достаточно серьезным вещам – пусть не кризису, но как минимум мироощущению среднего возраста.

В ноябре 2008 года группа выпустила новый, десятый по счету альбом Monster Philosophy. И опять удивила поклонников. Многие признавались, что ожидали чего угодно, но не того, что им пришлось услышать. На новой пластинке музыканты совместили старый-добрый rock с современными танцевальными тенденциями, и в результате получилось, по их собственному определению, "black disco", утяжеленные танцевальные композиции, которые замечательно идут на концертах.
