На этом альбоме признанные мастера soft metal из Ингольштадта верно следуют некогда выбранному пути, демонстрируя слушателю качественный синтез чисто немецкой, традиционной HM-музыки и американского "коммерческого" течения. Со временем слегка огрубевший вокал Лессманна звучит немного устало, но достаточно выразительно. Отработанные годами предсказуемые и незамысловатые риффы хорошо вписываются в лаконичный стиль группы. В принципе, на юбилейном диске "Strike Ten" есть все, что любили в Bonfire старые фэны и что вполне может понравиться новой аудитории. Прекрасный пример того, как можно сделать материал в угоду американскому рынку, не теряя при этом собственного достоинства и придерживаясь музыкальных "металлических" корней. Приятная, очень ровная и сдержанная работа без особых хитовых всплесков. Все вещи – хорошего, среднего уровня.

Mark Knopfler has the luxury of being selective about soundtrack work, and this is only his tenth film score in 17 years. It may be that he waits for films that can benefit from his approach, which is generally a lighter version of what he used to write and perform for Dire Straits and what he does on his solo albums. The soundtrack albums of his films usually are so closely identified with him that it's a dilemma where to shelve them in the record store, and this one is no exception; it is billed on the cover as "a Mark Knopfler soundtrack."

Притом гитарная часть непритязательна и проста, что подчеркивает рок-н-ролльно-панковские корни участников группы. С мелодической же частью всё разительно отличается - очень масштабные и атмосферные клавиши, местами пробирающие до дрожи, в вперемешку с раздолбайским саксофоном Тёрнера. Оный местами выдаёт такие хуки, что невольно удивляешься; вдобавок к этому, Ник ещё и прекрасно стрекочет на флейте.

Любопытным последствием воссоединения и последовавшей карьеры VdGG стал особый энтузиазм, с которым я стал подходить к сольным концертам в свободное от группы время. На протяжении серии концертных туров я осмыслил старые и новые песни в самом чистом, аскетическом исполнении: пианино и голос, гитара и голос.Некоторые песни, исполняемые на концертах, пришлось убрать, чтобы удержать длительность в рамках примерно 70ти минут. The lyrics were by bassist Geezer Butler, and vocalist Ozzy Osbourne has referred to the song as "heartbreaking". Quite different from Sabbath's previous work, the song was described as a "forlornly pretty" ballad by critic Barney Hoskyns. It was inspired mainly by Bill Ward's breakup with his first wife.

Queen of Denmark is the debut solo album by former The Czars frontman John Grant, released on April 19, 2010 on the Bella Union label. Queen of Denmark is a collaboration between Grant and American folk rock band Midlake and produced by Grant himself in collaboration with Midlake members Paul Alexander and Eric Pulido. It was recorded over two four-months periods, July to October 2008 and May to July 2009, in Midlake's recording studio in Denton, Texas.
