The Rasmus is the eighth, self-titled studio album by the Finnish rock band The Rasmus, which was released in Finland on 18 April 2012.
The album received two EMMA (Finnish Grammy) awards for "Best Album Cover" & "Best Music Video (I’m a Mess)".

The album was recorded during the tour supporting the album The World is a Game and was the band's first European concert. The recording is made up of songs from the three albums released during Benoît David's time in the band: Beneath the Veil of Winter's Face, One Among the Living and The World is a Game. It is the last album David recorded with the band before leaving in autumn 2013.

Hyperdrive marks a new era for Knight Area. The long running Dutch progressive rock band had previously released four studio albums and toured Europe and USA extensively, performing at all major prog rock festivals. 1n 2012 the band welcomed guitarist Mark Bogert as well as legendary bassist Peter Vink (Q65, Finch, Ayreon) into the fold.
