The Purple Album is the 12th studio album by British hard rock band Whitesnake. It contains remakes of songs from Deep Purple band lineups, Mark III and Mark IV. It is set to be released on 29 April in Japan, 15 May in Europe, 18 May in UK and 19 May 2015 in USA through Frontiers Records.

Originally released as Rosen aus dem Suden in 2010, Dutch violinist André Rieu continued his prolific output with this repackaged collection released just in time for Mother's Day, You Raise Me Up: Songs for Mum. Omitting three numbers from the original version ("La Montagne," "La Ballade des Gens Heureux," and "Ballade Pour Adeline"), its 16 tracks include orchestral reworkings of pop ballads (Secret Garden's "You Raise Me Up," Bette Midler's "The Rose"), show tunes ("I Dreamed a Dream," "Send in the Clowns"), and classical pieces from Bixio ("Mamma") and Lehár ("Love Live Forever").

In April 2014, it was announced that a 30th Anniversary edition of the album, featuring previously unreleased material, was released on 10 November 2014 in both 4- and 2-disc editions. The Reckless 30th Anniversary Tour is also to take place in November 2014, consisting of eleven exclusive arena shows in the United Kingdom.

The LP record's sleeve attributes the album to Rick Wakeman and the English Rock Ensemble. In addition to Wakeman with his wide variety of keyboard instruments, including harpsichords, Mellotrons, Moog synthesizers, organs, and pianos, musicians on the album are vocalist Ashley Holt, Roger Newell (bass guitar and vocals), John Dunsterville (guitars, mandolin, and vocals), Tony Fernandez (drums and percussion), Martyn Shields (trumpet, French horn, and vocals), and Reg Brooks (trombone and vocals).
