Пятый полноформатник норвежцев Blood Red Throne под руководством бывшего участника Emperor "Чорта" представляет собой чуть ли не идеальный образчик современного смертельного метала. Тут всё прописано и сделано как бы по неким негласным правилам жанра. Сокрушительные риффы (порой явно с трэшевым уклоном), вытягивающие душу из тела гитарные соло, безжизненный и не отклоняющийся ни на йоту в сторону суровый гроул, стабильная, как работа бензопилы, ритм-секция, и всё это вдобавок приправлено мелодиями. Этот квинтет мало интересуют какие-то новшества, они верны раз и навсегда выбранной колее дэт-металла.

Вот как должен звучать industrial metal. Вот к чему должен стремиться aggro-industrial. Существует множество точек зрения на то, какой альбом является лучшим симбиозом металла и индастриала, но мне все же кажется, что Die Krupps еще в 1997 году обошли всех на годы вперед. По одной только мощи гитар "Paradise Now" оставил позади большинство других альбомов данного жанра. Но это ничего бы не стоило без таких достоинств диска как изобилие индустриальных шумов и сэмплов, не столько электронных, сколько именно техногенных, урбанистичных, коими совсем немногие деятели индустриальных рока и металла нас радуют. И самое главное, что делает этот альбом индустриальным произведением высшего класса - соответствующая лирика и ее подача, которая бьет по мозгам, даже если вы совершенно незнакомы с английским. Вокал Юргена Энглера то спокоен и задумчив, то ожесточен и брутален. Но это не та агрессия, которая является требованием жанра в экстремальных направлениях металла, это не та ненависть, которая так модна в альтернативе. Здесь мы слышим скорее крик души, праведный гнев человека, созерцающего все социальные процессы, ведущие мир и общество к гибели, разочаровавшегося в человечестве, грозящего небу кулаком и рвущего на себе волосы от безысходности и страха не столько за свою судьбу, сколько за судьбу всего человечества.

Итак, музыка Cirith Ungol представляет собой мрачноватый хэви-метал, разбавленный классическим тягучим думом наподобие Saint Vitus и классическим хард-роком образца 70-х. Качество звука даже после переиздания не отличается высоким уровнем, но вполне приемлемо, за исключением слишком режущих соло-партий гитары. Музыканты владеют инструментами неплохо, частенько радуя слушателей недурными акустическими проигрышами и четкой, слаженной игрой. Атмосфера альбома, нагнетаемая тягучими риффами и своеобразной мелодикой, довольно-таки мрачная, эпичная и местами даже депрессивная.

Напористый и эпичный death, представленный на этом диске, продолжает линию предыдущих альбомов Нергала сотоварищи. Только на этот раз мы слышим гораздо больше «долбы». Непрекращающееся барабанное безумство сметает все на своем пути, а к концу альбома даже начинает утомлять. Технически совершенная гитара радует как навороченными соло, так и агрессивным «чесом». Вокал Нергала стал еще более профессиональным и обрел гораздо большую эмоциональность и экспрессивность. В отношении ярких мелодий альбом слабее своих предшественников, но этот недостаток с лихвой окупается непередаваемой атмосферой мрака и ярости.

The Silent Force is the third studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation, released on 15 November 2004, by GUN Records. On 5 August 2008, The Silent Force along with Mother Earth were released in the United States by Roadrunner Records. This album is the first to feature Ruud Jolie on lead guitar, as well as Martijn Spierenburg on keyboards, after Martijn Westerholt had to leave the band due to illness. It is also the first to feature Daniel Gibson as their producer. The album deepened the band symphonic approach, this time featuring more atmospheric songs that resemble the predominant fantasistic lyrics, inspired both by literature and the band members personal lives.

The album features mainly fantasy and nature themes and was a sleeper hit in the band's heartland, entering the Dutch charts at number eighty-two, by the end of 2000, and only managing to reach its peak third position two years later with the second release of the single Ice Queen. The album later reached double platinum status in the Netherlands, platinum in Germany, and gold in Belgium. As of 2011, the album had reportedly sold 800,000 copies.

Enter is the debut studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation, released by DSFA Records in 1997. After the band became more widely known in foreign markets, it was re-released by the independent label Season of Mist in North America in 2007, and by Nuclear Blast in 2014. Bleed Out is the eighth studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation. It was released on 20 October 2023. It is produced by their longtime producer Daniel Gibson, alongside Mathijs Tieken and Within Temptation. The album marks the first time the band opted for releasing a full record without the support of a major record label. Musically, the record incorporates elements from symphonic metal, gothic metal, metalcore, and djent. Lyrically, the band approached themes related to freedom. They addressed subjects such as war, oppression, women's rights, religion, bullying, and inner-struggles.

The Unforgiving is the fifth studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation, released by Roadrunner Records on 29 March 2011. It was a concept album as one part of a transmedia storytelling project, which accompanied the release of three short films and a series of six comic books. The album followed the band's pattern of incorporating new musical elements on each release, this time marking a major transition point for the band and featuring more pop and 80s influences. Lyrically, the band focused on telling a story with specific characters, also present in the films and comic books.
