Great White – американская рок-группа, образованная в 1978 году. Группа начинала свою карьеру как Dante Fox, сыграв свой первый концерт в 1981 году в Трубадуре (Голливуд, Калифорния). После записи нескольких демо группа выбирает своим менеджером Алана Найвена, который работал независимым дистрибьютором Greenworld в Торрансе (Калифорния) и договорился с Motley Crue об их дебютнике. Найвен предложил сменить название Dante Fox после того как Джек Расселл (Jack Russell) представил ему Марка Кендалла (Mark Kendall) на Great White – из-за его светлых волос, белой гитары Fender, белого костюма и белой обуви от Capezio. Этот альбом представляет собой Live, записанный (причем качественно) где-то в Южной Америке (по-моему в Перу или Колумбии). Длительностью 62 минуты, вмещает, в принципе, все лучшие (ИМХО) песни шведов. Это первое живое выступление Dark Funeral услышанное мной, и оно, должен сказать, очень меня порадовало. И без того быстрые песни здесь звучат еще быстрее, к тому же звуки толпы сведены до минимума.

На этом альбоие есть песни всех трех периодов творчества DORO - лучшей металлической певицы всех времен. Тут и жесткий гитарный материал в стиле Warlock ,и много лирики как в начале 90х , много и мощнейшей электроники как на ее альбомах M2M и Love me in black. Соответственно , альбом несколько разнопланов и звучит не столь цельно, как все прочее у Доро.И все же- Рекомендую всем, это top. Из фишек - отмечу Love me forever из 91 года Мотора c Лемми же на бэквокале, +еще одну песню с ним на limited edition и кавер White Wedding, Billy Idol. Мои фавориты- Scarred,Ich will alles,Fuel, Burn it up.Ну ладно, включу-ка по-громче

Это сейчас думовых групп пруд-пруди, а в 80-х шведский Candlemass безраздельно царствовал на троне. Данный альбом дает полное представление о группе. Классический медленный, мрачный и тяжелый саунд и непревзойденный вокал Мессии Марколина, который к сожалению вскоре покинул группу и это отразилось на ней самым пагубным образом-свое особое лицо было полностью потеряно.

Back to the Egg received unfavourable reviews from the majority of critics, with Rolling Stone magazine deriding it as "the sorriest grab bag of dreck in recent memory". Although the album charted in the top ten around the world and was certified platinum in the United States, it was viewed as a commercial failure relative to previous Wings releases, particularly in light of the generous financial terms under which McCartney had signed with CBS-owned Columbia Records. Of its singles – "Old Siam, Sir", "Getting Closer" and "Arrow Through Me" – only "Getting Closer" made the top 20 in Britain or America. The song "Rockestra Theme", recorded with a cast of guest musicians from bands such as the Who, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance in 1980.
