Чикагский Master вряд ли можно отнести к командам, добившимся в музыке выдающихся результатов. Более того, среди подобных им составов, рубивших на стыке трэша и прото-дэта, чикагцы тоже занимают отнюдь не ведущие позиции, уступая пальму первенства Merciless и Massacra. Куда весомей исторические заслуги Master, как одного из первых соратников в болезненной заокеанской компании Death, Possessed, Morbid Angel, стартовавшего аж в 1983 году, имеющего в запасе нереализованный альбом 1985 года, и т.д., и т.п.

Третий диск от Mayhem наконец-то показал группу во всей своей красе и современном облике. 'Chimera' стал настоящей квинтэссенцией всех предыдущих релизов, воплощением самой музыки Mayhem, их совершенно необычного подхода к сочинению, исполнению и записи песен. Атмосферу альбома вряд ли можно передать обычными словами, это нечто настолько мощное, мрачное и величественное, что невольно появляются мысли об ужасающей апокалиптичности и запредельности музыки. Альбом даёт такой старт, что немногим тру-блэкарям удасться угнаться за матёрыми майхемовцами, причём на этот раз все звуковые изыски соблюдены просто идеально - здесь не нужна какая-то вечная сырость гитар и глухость барабанов, в саунде 'Chimera' можно наслаждаться и смаковать каждую деталь до самых глубоких подробностей.

Музыка команды производит в целом более благоприятное впечатление. Ориентальный блэк/дэт металл, в котором быстрые фрагменты плотного гитарного саунда и локомотивных ударных в исполнении Proscriptor'a из ABSU сменяются более медленными среднетемповыми кусками. Особенно меня зацепил такой момент в четвертой композиции "Bardjinn". Уж шибко он напоминает известную мелодию из шикарного советского кинофильма "Кавказская пленница": "...Неплохо очень совсем без жены – гораздо лучше с любой стороны!..". Вокал на диске варьируется от злобного хрипящего, до злобного визжащего,

Были когда-то времена, не знаменитые блэком и дэтом, когда крошка Евронимус пытался окончить среднюю школу, а крошка Глен Бентон тренировался на кошках мучить своих будущих слушателей, и лишь Веном и Батори какофонили в своих мрачных подземельях. И родилась на свет Божий (?) группа, к которой была милостива Судьба, и сотворила она альбом "Melissa", и офигели граждане, и продолжают делать сие уже второй десяток лет. Даймонд и компания умудрились создать шедевр прогрессивного хэви, ультрамелодичный, с потрясающим, не имеющим аналогов вокалом, с трогательными в своей наивности "сатанинскими" текстами, и непередаваемым настроением чистого Зла, упоительной свободы и агрессивности. "Evil", "Into The Coven", "Black Funeral" и грандиозная "Satan's Fall" - мои личные фавориты на этом альбоме, но остальные трэки не хуже.

Возвращаясь к самому альбому, стоит отметить, что он стал более целостным по сравнению с дебютником и воспринимается как монолит. За 4 года Том Уорриор успел переварить непростой для себя разрыв с бывшими коллегами по Celtic Frost, обрел равновесие и уверенность в том, что он делает. Это положительно сказалось на музыке, и если вам понравился первый альбом Triptykon, этот понравится еще больше.

Machine II Machine is the fifth studio album by the German female hard rock singer Doro Pesch. The album was released in March 1995 and mixed by Kevin Shirley and Greg Smith. It is the more mainstream oriented album of the German singer to date, thanks to the production of Jack Ponti (Bon Jovi, Alice Cooper, Baton Rouge) and the collaboration of musicians and authors coming from pop, country and even Latin music. The lyrics break new ground for Doro, as many of the songs deal with erotic themes. The last track is a remix done by members of the German industrial metal band Die Krupps, who worked with Doro in her next albums. The limited edition of the album contains the bonus track "Tie Me Up (Hard & Fast mix)".

Fight is the first Doro album since Force Majeure to be produced with a strong contribution from the members of the band that accompanied the German singer on her tours. Nick Douglas, Joe Taylor and Johnny Dee had toured with Doro for more than ten years, while Oliver Palotai replaced Mario Parillo after his demise in 2001.

Not strictly a "greatest-hits" collection, Love Songs contains Elton John's most famous ballads, from "Your Song" and "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" to "Can You Feel the Love Tonight." Featuring two new songs, including the single "You Can Make History (Young Again)," Love Songs is designed for the casual John fan who is familiar with his songs through adult contemporary radio. If you don't fall into that category, the compilation is bound to fall short of expectations, but the record nevertheless works well as a collection of ballads and soft rock.
