DiAngelo started and developed the musical career of Giovanni Marradi. He also produced over 40 of the very successful Giovanni piano series and the Quietude series along with the successful television programs, "Classic Nights With Giovanni", for the NBC affiliates and PBS in the USA. He and the series were nominated for and received several awards by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Angelo is in the process of developing the beautiful new Hymns series, Latin Moods, and World Mix series: music that has never been done before. Giovanni Marradi is a composer and arranger, born in 1952 of Italian and Lebanese heritage. Giovanni's music and performance is like no other in the world.

Veteran producer Tony Watts was behind this budget collection of George Formby's work, mostly from the 1930s -- which represented Formby's prime -- and the quality shows, in the good-quality transfers as well as a decent essay/overview of Formby's career. The selection is a good one, touching all of the expected bases ("The Window Cleaner," etc.), all astonishingly catchy novelty and music hall tunes, mostly with a double-entendre element.

Following their 1991 We Can't Dance tour, Genesis released two live albums - Genesis Live: The Way We Walk Volume One: The Shorts and Genesis Live: The Way We Walk Volume Two: The Longs. While The Longs was aimed more at the long-term progressive fans, The Shorts was geared more toward the newer 'singles' fans.
I fit into the Longs category. Despite having great live versions of songs such as "No Son of Mine", "Mama", and "Hold on my Heart", this just doesn't do anything for me. I can pretty much do without the Invisible Touch tracks, and there's little of necessity to tracks such as "I Can't Dance" and "That's All". But i'll cut my losses now while i'm ahead. It is, after all, The Shorts, and if i didn't want to hear the shorts, i'd put in The Longs instead, no? Which i will do 10 times out of 10... all the reason i needed to part with this.
Fairly smart move, though... one live CD for the Invisible Touch Club, another for the progheads, and neither has to be bogged down by the 'other' Genesis.

Recording and performing together since the late '70s, Gene Bertoncini and Michael Moore once more undertake the daunting task of making a guitar-bass duet session attractive to listeners without being boring or maudlin. Like their earlier efforts, Two in Time successfully fills the bill. The interesting play list, with a balanced mix of slow and up-tempo tunes, contributes much to making this a satisfying session. The medley of "The Bad and the Beautiful" and "Laura," with most of the players' attention given to the latter, is intriguing in the way that it segues back and forth between Moore's dark, brooding bowing on "Laura" and Bertoncini's upbeat guitar. Moore also bows on "You've Changed" which is a highlight of his introspective but very lyrical approach to the music.

Out in the Fields: The Very Best of Gary Moore is a compilation album by Gary Moore. Released in 1998, the album encompasses a part of Moore's immense career from 1982 to 1992, focusing predominantly on the hard rock albums Moore released during that period. As well as the regular 1-disc version, a 2-CD limited edition was also released; the second disc contains several live and studio B-sides, a non-album single and a single remix.

The Glitter Band are a glam rock band from England, who initially worked as Gary Glitter's backing band under that name from 1973, when they then began releasing records of their own. They were unofficially known as the Glittermen on the first four hit singles by Gary Glitter from 1972 to 1973.
The Glitter Band had seven UK Top 20 hit singles in the mid-1970s, and three hit albums. Pete Phipps and John Springate are still currently touring with The Glitter Band. John Rossall and Harvey Ellison tour under their own names.

Oftentimes, U.K. chart success does not necessarily mean stateside success, as is evident with artists such as Kylie Minogue, Cliff Richard, Simply Red, Robbie Williams, and, in this case, the warm-voiced, anti-diva British soul/pop singer/songwriter Gabrielle, the recipient of 1997's Brit Award for Best British Female Vocalist. Gabrielle scored with an amazing run of hits in Europe, but only one true hit in the U.S. with "Dreams." All of her charted singles are assembled on Dreams Can Come True: Greatest Hits, Vol. 1, a fantastic collection of truly timeless, fad-free music -- upbeat, positive songs which could have been hits 30 years before this album's release and will sound just as good 30 years later.

Наверное, один из самых долгожданных релизов года. После переиздания диска «Stormblast» члены группы пообещали взяться за новый материал. И спустя два года мы имеем этот, по сути, сногсшибательный материал. А точнее, нашим ушам представлено продолжение прошлого альбома в еще более красивой и техничной интерпретации. Сразу врезаются в уши все отдельно взятые инструменты и вокал. Музыканты на славу потрудились и отшлифовали все до блеска – гитары чистые и четкие, вокал отлично записан и чертовски удачно сочетается с главной линией альбома. Довольно частые и уместные соляки отчетливо слышны и не прячутся за основной лид-партией. Клавишные партии ярко выражены и частенько выступают на передний план, хотя сказать, что с ними переборщили, нельзя. О барабанах можно сказать только хорошее – отличная техника Хэллхамера, хорошо слышна спаренная бочка и отчетливые тарелки

Весь этот альбом – одна большая история людей, смирившихся со своими невзгодами и несчастьями. История потенциальных самоубийц. Что и подтверждает последний трек – пятнадцатиминутная симфония, музыкальное письмо, направленное самой Смерти, с просьбой придти наконец, и закончить то, что начала Жизнь, которая и привела их к такому концу. “O, life, you have killed me / O, death, come near us, and give us life…”, - этими короткими строчками и подводится черта.

Это лучший релиз Доро в XXI веке. Более того - это ее лучший релиз со времен "Angels Never Die". Уж и не знаю, что заставило фрау Пеш подсобраться, насочинять пусть и фактурный, но цепляющий материал и весьма энергично воплотить его на пластмассовой болванке под названием "Warrior Soul".

Переиздание альбомов шведских дэтстеров наверняка станет подарком для всех любопытствующих. И немудрено: команда хоть и шведская, а налет американщины чувствуется столь явно, что их легко спутать с какой-нибудь заокеанской группой середины девяностых. Ощутимое влияние трэша добавляет атмосфере альбома юношеского задора и разнузданности, которые, собственно, и составляют основное впечатление от прослушивания. Несмотря на ремастеринг, запись оставляет желать лучшего: нечеткие и глухие гитары незаслуженно задвинуты куда-то назад, при этом основной упор сделан на ударные.

Funeral-metal – жанр весьма специфический и довольно консервативный, в котором, казалось бы, трудно уже кого-то чем-то удивить, но в прошлом, 2006 году это удалось сделать, по меньшей мере, двум альбомам. Первый был выпущен нашими земляками, москвичами из COMATOSE VIGIL, но там, главным образом, удивляло качество релиза, нежели сама музыка. И вот на самом рубеже годов российским лейблом “Solitude Productions” в свет был выпущен альбом таинственного проекта EA, о котором неизвестно ровным счетом ничего, ни имен или ников музыкантов, ни само их количество в группе, ни даже страны, откуда к нам это чудо пришло.

Великолепный образец шикарного шведского Death Metal. Этот диск Дэна и компании нравится мне больше как предыдущего Unorthodox, так и последующего Purgatory Afterglow. С одной стороны он прост и искренен, с другой же - для своего времени достаточно оригинален. На моей памяти на нём была лишь пара средненьких вещей, всё остальное я люблю безумно. В принципе, в какой-то степени это уже прогдэт...вернее, недо-прогдэт, но это не умаляет его важности как музыкальной единицы, стимулировавшей развитие дэта в сторону усложнения композиций.

Венгерская extreme metal группа EKTOMORF решилась на неожиданный шаг - записать акустический альбом, в котором оказались как ремейки старых треков, так и новые песни. Учитывая цыганские корни музыкантов, исход этого эксперимента как минимум заставляет проявить к себе интерес.Называть альбом полностью акустическим было бы ошибкой, так как в нем по прежнему присутствуют свойственные группе агрессивность и тяжесть. Как оказалось, в акустическом звучании EKTOMORF драйва и энергетики не меньше, чем в перегруженном.Помимо 5 новых и 5 старых треков, на альбоме можно найти кавер версии на песни LYNYRD SKYNYRD и JOHNNY CASH.
