Edmund James Arthur Hockridge (9 August 1919 – 15 March 2009) was a Canadian baritone and actor who had an active performance career in musicals, operas, concerts, plays and on radio. According to his obituary in The Guardian, his life could have provided the storyline for one of the musicals he starred in.

A word for divas in waiting: beware. Fairy tales are fine, but in the world of music it's a buyer's market for princesses. With so many fairy godmothers working overtime to make sure that their charge wins the prize, it's often down to an indefinable "oomph" that vaunts one pumpkin carriage past the rest. Take Eboni Foster as a case in point: She's got the looks, the pipes, and the credentials (having played with Nuttin' Nyce), but no curtain call. Just What You Want is a good R&B effort, but one ultimately found wanting.

Un-Led-Ed is the debut album by Dread Zeppelin. Released in 1990, the album received a public endorsement by Led Zeppelin vocalist, Robert Plant, who claimed he preferred Dread Zep's version of "Your Time Is Gonna Come" to Led Zeppelin's original.

To say that Doris Day, born Doris Kappelhoff in Cincinnati on April 3, 1922, is one of the premier female vocalists of both The Big Band era, as well as into the 1960s as a solo artist, would be an under statement. After a brief appearance with the Bob Crosby orchestra in 1940, she was part of 11 national hit singles with Les Brown's aggregation, starting in 1945 with the immortal Sentimental Journey, surely one of THE greatest Big Band hits of them all, spending nine weeks at # 1 in March/April/May for Columbia Records. That would be the start of a long association with the label which would also include 20 films from 1949 (Romance On The High Seas) to 1968 (The Ballad Of Josie) - the year she retired from Show Business.

Donny Osmond didn't let himself be deterred by a disastrous Broadway debut in 1982 (George M. Cohan's Little Johnny Jones closed after opening night). A decade later he starred in the North American tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and now his 2001 solo album, This Is the Moment, further proves that teen pop's loss has become musical theater's gain. Assisted by legendary pop producer Phil Ramone, Osmond puts a contemporary spin on a wide variety of Broadway tunes (though nothing from Joseph), emphasizing shows from the previous decade: Rent (a funky R&B "Seasons of Love"), Jekyll & Hyde (a smooth "This Is the Moment"), Aida, even Riverdance.

It s probably quicker to cite rare examples of household names that the Sunderland-born keyboard wizard hasn t had the pleasure of playing with than to list the credits that he s notched so far, though the latter category includes Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, Brian May of Queen, Colosseum II, Judas Priest, the supergroup Living Loud, Babe Ruth, Gary Moore, UFO, Michael Schenker, Colin Blunstone, Company Of Snakes, a latter incarnation of the Electric Light Orchestra, Katrina & The Waves and even Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The Great Depression is the fourth studio album by American rapper DMX. The album was released October 23, 2001, by Ruff Ryders Entertainment and Def Jam Recordings. It was DMX's fourth consecutive album to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. 440,000 copies were sold within the first week of the album's release, and it was certified Platinum in December of that year. The album demonstrated his continually strong allegiance with the Ruff Ryders with singles such as "Who We Be" and "We Right Here".

Сперва, когда весь материал был уже сочинен, а возможности записать его все не предоставлялось, публика, валом валившая на концерты Черного Кофе, получала под этим названием выступления Дмитрия Варшавского в сопровождении молодых коллег. Трое из четверых новых рекрутов - Сергей Доровской (ритм-гитара, вокал), Владимир Тупиков (соло-гитара) и Николай Кузьменко (бас-гитара) - ранее играли в локальном составе Экзарх. Четвертым был ударник Сергей Почиталов. Бессменный вокалист, гитарист и композитор Черного Кофе, Варшавский предпочел собрать вокруг себя совершенно новый состав. Объяснялось сие тем, что "старые музыканты группы сейчас заняты непонятно чем", а не желающему стареть Варшавскому легче работается именно с молодыми инструменталистами. Объяснение, правда, было получено из уст непосредственно "молодых инструменталистов" - сам основатель группы упорно уклонялся от общения с прессой.

„Брати Гадюкіни” утворилися на початку 80-х. Тоді їх сприймали як львівську відповідь на київський гурт „ВВ”. Але, звичайно, вони значно відрізнялися – оригінальним гротескним гумором та вдалою музичною сумішшю блюзові-джазового „філінгу” з фольклором. „Брати Гадюкіни” створили образ такого собі „хлопця з народу” – не поганого і не хорошого, такого собі... Пісеньки від імені цього „антигероя” – це своєрідний стьоб на тему людської обмеженості. Можна сміливо сказати, що „Брати Гадюкіни” – це один з тих небагатьох гуртів, які були засновниками вітчизняного року і стали його легендами. Нажаль, гуртів, здатних замінити „Братів Гадюкіних” в їх творчій ніші, поки що не існує.
