Абсолютно все песни здесь достойны внимания, проходных вещей нет совершенно: и эпические композиции с оркестром, ещё раз показывающие, что тяжёлая музыка с симфонической могут сочетаться великолепно, и три мощнейших скоростных боевика, очень разных, но дико заряжающих энергией, и пара прекрасных лиричных баллад, каждая со своим настроением, и три среднетемповые песни с великолепными мелодиями и пробивающими насквозь хорами и припевами.

Recorded at Birmingham’s Zella Studios in the Spring of 1995, 'DUSK... AND HER EMBRACE - THE ORIGINAL SIN' saw CRADLE OF FILTH introduce Gothic elements to their extreme sound, focusing on decadent vampyric romanticism, death and loss, and forbidden love. However soon after recording the band split, half of the band forming The Blood Divine, and the remaining members made the collective decision at the time to not release a record that was not representative of the new line-up.
Now with the resurrection of Cacophonous, 'DUSK... AND HER EMBRACE - THE ORIGINAL SIN' will see the light of day. Re-mastered by Scott Atkins at Ipswich’s Grindstone Studio, the record comprises of 10 studio album tracks, 2 bonus demo tracks and artwork by Drake Mefestta. Guest vocal appearances come from Cronos (Venom) and Steve Grimmett (Grim Reaper).

В целом группе это вполне удаётся, и если выкинуть пару-тройку вещей за борт как раз за эту "однообразно-хитовую скучность" (например, заглавный трек и "Ein Leben lang unsterblich"), альбом совсем не потеряет в разнообразии. Наиболее интересными песнями для меня стали: яркая открывающая "Tanz mit mir", "Verrukt", на которую был снят забавный клип, а также треки, немного выпадающие из общего настроения релиза - яростная драйвовая "Exzess Express" и "Abgrunt", как будто бы взятая откуда-то из опуса "Antikoerper" 2006-го года. Отдельно стоит упомянуть балладу "Rette Mich", печальную и эмоциональную в музыке и совсем уж трагичную в лирике. Радует, что ребята ещё не разучились писать подобные композиции, "медляки" у них всегда получались отменно.

Перед нами фактически Fair Warning в новом обличии. Невероятно мелодичный, более тяжелый, насыщенный всевозможными фишками, ну просто обалденно вкусный хард-рок. Помимо уникальной гитарной работы Энгельке (ах, какие у него соляки – выворачивает наизнанку от его пронзительных нот!) стоит отметить потрясающую работу вокалиста Олафа Сенкбейла

Köld is the third studio album by Icelandic post-metal band Sólstafir. It was released on January 21, 2009 through Spinefarm Records. The cover art was done by Guðmundur Óli Pálmason. It was recorded in Gothenburg and all the songs are in English, except the title song "Köld".
