Def Leppard are one of the biggest bands in the world to avoid releasing an official live album (not counting their ‘In The Round…‘ concert video) until well into their fourth decade as a band. Since then, they seem to want to catch up to bands like Foreigner and Styx in terms of live output.

Starting with Mirrorball in 2011, the band has released four live albums, not counting the live material that accompanied re-releases of the excellent ‘Pyromania Deluxe Edition‘ and the ‘Early Years 79-81‘ box set. They had just released ‘One Night Only: Live at the Leadmill‘ last year (review here). All this is to say we have well entered cash grab territory.

The most distinctive thing about Double Fantasy, the last album John Lennon released during his lifetime, is the very thing that keeps it from being a graceful return to form from the singer/songwriter, returning to active duty after five years of self-imposed exile. As legend has it, Lennon spent those years in domestic bliss, being a husband, raising a baby, and, of course, baking bread. Walls and Bridges is the fifth solo studio album by the English musician John Lennon. It was issued by Apple Records on 26 September 1974 in the United States and on 4 October in the United Kingdom. Written, recorded and released during his 18-month separation from Yoko Ono, the album captured Lennon in the midst of his "Lost Weekend". Walls and Bridges was an American number-one album on both the Billboard and Record World charts and included two hit singles, "Whatever Gets You thru the Night" and "#9 Dream".

Lennon recorded the album from early to mid-1971 at his Ascot Sound Studios, EMI Recording Studios and the Record Plant in New York City, with musicians that included his ex-Beatles bandmate George Harrison, keyboardist Nicky Hopkins, bassist Klaus Voormann and drummers Alan White and Jim Keltner. The lyrics reflect peace, love, politics, Lennon's experience with primal scream therapy and, following a period of high personal tensions, an attack on his former writing partner Paul McCartney in "How Do You Sleep?". Extensive footage from the sessions was recorded for a scrapped documentary; parts were released on the documentary film Imagine: John Lennon (1988). The documentary John & Yoko: Above Us Only Sky, based on that footage, was released in 2018.

Co-produced by Lennon, Ono and Phil Spector, it followed Lennon's recording of three experimental releases with Ono and a live album from the 1969 version of the Plastic Ono Band. John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band contains a largely raw production sound with songs heavily influenced by Lennon's recent primal therapy. Its lyrics reflect Lennon's personal issues and includes themes of child-parent abandonment and psychological suffering. The tracks were recorded in September and October 1970 at Abbey Road Studios in London, simultaneously with Ono's solo album.

The album received a mixed response from music critics, and only reached number 34 in the group's native UK. In total, Restless Heart charted in ten countries. With Whitesnake having been dropped by Geffen Records in 1994, Restless Heart did not receive a North American release, being available only as an import. The album's supporting tour was billed as Whitesnake's farewell tour, although the band would later reform in 2003. Restless Heart was reissued by Rhino Entertainment in 2021, featuring remastered and remixed versions of the album, among other previously unreleased material.

Kiss (commonly styled in all caps) was an American rock band formed in New York City in 1973 by Paul Stanley (vocals, rhythm guitar), Gene Simmons (vocals, bass guitar), Ace Frehley (lead guitar, vocals) and Peter Criss (drums, vocals). Known for their face paint and stage outfits, the group rose to prominence in the mid-1970s with shock rock–style live performances that featured fire-breathing, blood-spitting, smoking guitars, shooting rockets, levitating drum kits and pyrotechnics. The band went through several lineup changes, with Stanley and Simmons remaining the only consistent members. The Definitive Collection of Mini-LP Replica CDs Boxed Set is a compilation of twelve compact discs featuring albums by the English rock group Led Zeppelin. It was distributed by Atlantic Records in collaboration with Rhino Entertainment on 4 November 2008. This collection comprises all nine of Led Zeppelin's original studio albums that have been digitally remastered. Additionally, it includes previously unreleased tracks that were initially part of the 1990 Boxed Set, now presented on disc 12. The set also encompasses the two-disc remastered edition of the film soundtrack The Song Remains the Same, incorporating bonus tracks. The albums are organized chronologically and each is presented in miniature replica sleeves mimicking the original vinyl releases. Prior to this boxed set, these replica CDs were only obtainable as separate releases in Japan. An exclusive Japanese deluxe boxed set was initially offered from 10 September 2008, and was limited to 5,000 copies in the SHM-CD format.
