My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky is the eleventh studio album by Swans released on September 23, 2010; it was their first studio recording in 14 years. Swans founder Michael Gira funded the recording of this album by creating the limited-edition album I Am Not Insane and chose several collaborators from previous Swans line-ups as well as his side project Angels of Light to record and tour for this album. Compilation album by American experimental rock band Swans. It was released on March 22, 1999 and contains tracks from White Light from the Mouth of Infinity, Love of Life, The Burning World, and The World of Skin's Ten Songs for Another World. In addition, it contains B-sides, rarities, and previously unreleased tracks.

These albums were originally attributed to Swans and Skin respectively but are here largely branded as released by the former (although some versions of this compilation reissue are less ambiguous about the origin, none seem to make any specific allusions to Skin as an entity at all). On this edition of Children Of God the song "Our Love Lies" was replaced by the acoustic version of the same, originally released on the CD version of the Love Will Tear Us Apart EP - and the track(s) "Damn You To Hell / I'll Swallow You" taken from the B-side of the New Mind

The tenth studio album by Swans, and the last released until 2010's My Father Will Guide Me up a Rope to the Sky. It was released as a double CD in 1996, through Young God Records. Soundtracks for the Blind was intended, as suggested by the title, to function as a sort of "soundtrack for a non-existent film", and is Swans' most varied studio effort.

Love of Life is the eighth studio album by American experimental rock band Swans. It was released in 1992 on Young God Records. Like its predecessor, Love of Life was out of print for a long time and had not been reissued until December 2015. Six of the eleven songs appear on the Various Failures compilation, and a further four appear on the Forever Burned compilation. These two compilations therefore contain all the material on this release, except the Jarboe composition "She Cries (For Spider)"

The Burning World was originally released in 1989 and marks the first and last major label record for Michael Gira's Swans. The album was produced by Bill Laswell, a pairing that Gira claims was not a good fit and was forced upon him by the label. Despite Gira's own distaste for the record, its reputation has grown over the years and is now considered a fine effort from one of the most important and longest lasting New York post-punk groups.

The first CD issue contained the A Screw EP as bonus tracks. A later compilation released in 1992, Greed / Holy Money, combined Holy Money (barring "A Screw (Holy Money)", though "A Screw (Holy Money) (Mix)" was listed as this) and Greed (barring "Fool" and "Money Is Flesh", however "Fool (#2)" and "Money Is Flesh (#2)" were listed as these, respectively), as well as the entirety of the A Screw EP and an abridged version of "Time Is Money (Bastard) (Mix)" (listed as "Time Is Money (Bastard)") from the Time Is Money (Bastard) EP. This compilation, with its entirely re-organized track list, saw re-issue in 1999 in the double-disc set Cop/Young God / Greed/Holy Money, which included the Cop album and Young God EP.

Cop is the second studio album by American experimental rock band Swans. It was released in 1984, through record label K.422. On Cop, Swans took the style of their previous LP, 1983's Filth, and intensified it, utilizing slower tempos, more tape loops, and even more abrasive musical textures. The lyrics are again concerned with ambiguous themes like physical, often sexual domination and occasionally submission. Some publications recognize Cop as Swans' darkest, most brutal release.
