The fourth album by songwriter/producer Martin Strathausen and his Orchestra, he recruited singers and musicians from ten different countries – from California to Cameron via Brazil, England, Italy, Ukraine, Romania and of course his home base in Germany. With alliances around the world Tape Fiveis stationed on hundreds of music compilations.

Born in Havana, Cuba in 1980, pianist/composer and bandleader Manuel Valera is a forward-minded jazz musician with a knack for combining myriad Latin styles with contemporary jazz and post-bop. Starting out as a saxophonist, Valera switched full-time to piano after moving to the U.S. where he performed with John Patitucci, Paquito D'Rivera, Jeff “Tain” Watts, Chris Potter, Mark Turner and many others. «The Seasons» (2017) is Valera’s twelfth recording as a leader and the second recording with this trio. The first trio recording was the critically acclaimed «Live at Firehouse 12» which was released in 2015 also on MAVO Records. After working together as a trio for almost four years the connection of the trio can be felt throughout the new release. The musical interplay that has developed between these musicians is extraordinary.

Australian-born and New York-based Nicki Parrott is a double threat: She can play the bass very competently, and has a singing voice that shares the relaxed sexiness of Julie London and the coquettishness of Blossom Dearie. She has performed and recorded with the legendary guitarist Les Paul, pianist Rachel Z and her sister Lisa Parrott. For this collection of Burt Bacharach songs, Nicki is supported by John Di Martino on piano, Paul Meyers on guitar, Harry Allen on tenor sax, and Alvin Atkinson on drums.

The Brit-Funk Association features a 10 piece collective of musicians from Beggar & Co, Central Line, Hi-Tension and ex-members of Light of the World and Incognito to perform from each of the band's back catalogue tracks such as "Time", "Somebody (Help Me Out)", "Walking Into Sunshine", "Hi-Tension", "British Hustle", "There's a Reason", "I'm So Happy", "London Town", "Nature Boy", "Everyday" and some of the great music that inspired them by bands like Kool & The Gang, The Blackbyrds and others of the genre.Look out for the forthcoming release from the band 'Full Circle' due very shortly.

There is poetry and precision in GoGo Penguin’s new work—and intimacy and vastness. Their titles tend to speak volumes, in tandem with their evocative instrumentals. They’d actually completed the new album’s track-listing before settling on the name for A Humdrum Star—yet it captures a distinctive tone. It’s taken from a quote by American astrophysicist Carl Sagan from his 1980 TV series Cosmos: “Who are we? We find that we live on an insignificant planet of a humdrum star lost in a galaxy tucked away in some forgotten corner of a universe in which there are far more galaxies than people.”
