Wind Rose already made waves in the metal scene with their debut Shadows Over Lothadruin, and Wardens of the West Wind keeps this tornado of momentum up. This is entertaining power metal with reasonable lactose levels, and it feels like these guys are on the brink of something excellent.

Just Testing is the tenth studio album by the British rock band Wishbone Ash, released in 1980. It was to be bass guitarist and vocalist Martin Turner's last appearance on a Wishbone Ash album, until the release of Nouveau Calls in 1987.

Either the mid-'70s or the addition of Ted Turner's replacement, Laurie Wisefield, brought about a severe identity crisis for Wishbone Ash. No longer were they the self-conscious band that evolved from their blues-based debut to their prog precursor Pilgrimage to their progressive tour de force Argus. While Wishbone Ash was still a guitar-oriented band, Locked In provided no originality and, save for a guitar refrain in "Rest in Peace," no memorable passages whatsoever. While his credentials are impressive, producer Tom Dowd was not the man for the job. He was much better suited as a producer of Southern rock, jazz, and R&B acts. Again, Wishbone Ash suffered from inadequate lead vocals, but that wasn't as serious a problem as their atrocious songwriting. Locked In is the album that clearly signified the downfall of this immensely talented and promise-filled band. They never seemed to recover, both from a creative and popularity standpoint, from the abyss they fell into upon the release of Locked In.

Wishbone Four is the fourth studio album by British rock band Wishbone Ash, released in 1973. It was a departure from their previous album, Argus, in that it lacked that recording's overall cohesion and atmosphere and the loose conceptual framework of a stately, pastoral and warring medieval England.

The soft, soothing sound of William Topley's voice has lulled me to a peaceful place many a time, and on his latest record, Sea Fever, Topley's voice continues to do just that. This record finds Topley purveying the same kind of casual blues that his fans have come to expect, but he changes things up a bit, creating more bright tones in some of the songs than he has previously. "High On The Rhythm" is a perfect example of this phenomenon.

Manuel Bissig (guitar, vocals), Lukas Kurmann (bass) and Simon Gautsch (drums) have found the key to a new era, where the musical freedom of the 60s and 70s, combined with the sounds of today, have enabled something very special. Raw and wild, like the earthshaking sound Hendrix, Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath let loose back in the day, Sons of Morpheus tear up the strings and beat the drums without giving the impression that time has stood still. The world may have changed but our minds have not. In this manner, Sons of Morpheus summon the ghost of the past and let it thrive in the present. Time is and remains relative.
