In October 2011, at the seasoned age of 91, Ravi Shankar invited his long-time tabla accompanist, Tanmoy Bose, to his home in Encinitas, California for an informal recording session. Over four days, they worked in Shankar's living room, recording seven different ragas. The resulting music is pure Shankar - a pairing of deep musical experience and brilliant technique performed with the energy and passion he brings to his live concerts. The first of two releases, The Living Room Sessions, Part 1, holds four tracks that span a wide range of Indian classical styles.

Grammy nominated René Marie takes us to that space on Sound of Red, her first album of all-original material. Shadow King was a hard rock supergroup. Formed by former Foreigner lead singer Lou Gramm, former Sweet Savage, Dio, Whitesnake, Riverdogs, (currently Def Leppard) guitarist Vivian Campbell, Lou Gramm's former Black Sheep and then future Foreigner bandmate bass player Bruce Turgon, and drummer Kevin Valentine.
Vivian Campbell and Bruce Turgon both also played with Lou Gramm as a solo artist previous to Shadow King, with Vivian playing on Long Hard Look, and Bruce playing on Ready or Not and Long Hard Look.
They released a self-titled album in 1991. Although plans were made for a tour, they performed only once, at the Astoria Theatre in London, England, on December 13, 1991. Shortly afterward, Vivian Campbell announced he was leaving Shadow King to join Def Leppard. Although replacements were considered, the band members eventually went their separate ways, with Gramm and Turgon rejoining Foreigner in 1992.

The Bee Gees’ Festival Albums Collection 1965-67 shows the brother Gibb in an embryonic phase. These are, after all, the first three albums they recorded in Australia after arriving here from England. Their debut was recorded when Barry was just 19 and the twins, Maurice and Robin were 16. It seemed like a fun, joyful time because this feeling makes its way onto the record. And while they did not produce chart “hits” per se, this time was fruitful in providing the solid groundwork for what was to come. The three albums have not been released before in a full, comprehensive form. The closest anyone has come is to release these as compilations like Brilliant From Birth. But in that case the track ordering was muddled and the original artwork was not used. On this 2013 collection the albums are preserved with their correct cover, running orders and track-listing and so here begins our journey with The Bee Gees Sing & Play 14 Barry Gibb Songs.

Fans of Kristjan Jarvi’s Absolute Ensemble and their previous recordings Absolute Zawinul and Absolution will get the chance to wallow in the splendid sounds of Arabian Nights Live at Town Hall NYC come August 10th. Set for release on the Enja Records label, Arabian Nights is a sumptuous, exotic fusion where classical, jazz, world and Middle Eastern music meet in a kaleidoscopic melange of pure goodness. The Absolute Arabian Nights Project flowered out of a post-September 11th memorial concert performed as part Musikfest Bremen in Bremen, Germany. UNESCO Artist for Peace and musician Marcel Khalife, musician Bassam Saba, composer and musician Dhafer Youssef and composer and musician Daniel Schnyder teamed up with Krisjan Jarvi and the Absolute Ensemble to create “an honest, apolitical statement of peace and unity in the music world” with the Absolute Arabian Nights Project. The project grew to fruition in 2007 with a performance at New York City’s Town Hall as part of the Not Just Jazz Series.

Tony Hadley, legendary solo singer and Spandau Ballet front man who’s currently in the I’m A Celebrity Jungle has announced a series of live dates with an orchestra for October 2016 including a date at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Apart from the live dates Tony Hadley has also announced his first ever Christmas album. Produced in Italy the album features two brand new songs together with some of his favourite Christmas classics. “The Christmas Album” will be available worldwide on November 27th physically, digitally and through all streaming partners. The first single from the new album, “Shake Up Christmas” will be serviced to radio stations in November together with a video for the track.
