Plagiarism was not successful across Europe like its predecessor Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins had been, and did not chart significantly in any territory. The two singles performed well enough to register in the lower regions of the UK Singles Chart. The first single from the album was "The Number One Song In Heaven", the single version did not include the vocals of Jimmy Somerville, it reached #70 in October 1997.

Synchronicity is the fifth and final studio album by the Police, released in the United Kingdom on 17 June 1983.[2] The band's most successful release, the album includes the hit singles "Every Breath You Take", "King of Pain", "Wrapped Around Your Finger", and "Synchronicity II". The album's title and much of the material for the songs were inspired by Arthur Koestler's The Roots of Coincidence. At the 1984 Grammy Awards the album was nominated for a total of five awards including Album of the Year and won three. At the time of its release and following its tour the Police were hailed as the "Biggest Band in the World".

The album is named after a dream that Sting had. He initially worked on tracks for his debut solo album with producers Torch Song: William Orbit, Laurie Mayer and Grant Gilbert. These sessions were more synth-driven and 'electrofunk' in nature than what eventually was recorded and released; Sting eventually decided against this direction, and instead decided to pursue more jazz-oriented music.

Sting wanted to put together a concert in his home at Villa Il Palagio in Tuscany, Italy, so he enlisted a group of musicians to practice and perform with him. The events leading up to the night of the performance were filmed, and during these events on the day of the performance, the September 11 attacks perpetrated against the United States occurred, and the assembled group of musicians was made aware of this. The group performed the concert as originally intended, although Sting indicated on the DVD documentary the tone of the evening was quite different from how it was originally intended. Additionally, the "Desert Rose" performance featuring vocalist Cheb Mami was canceled due to the same circumstances.

Red Carpet Massacre is the twelfth studio album by the English pop rock band Duran Duran, released on 13 November 2007 by Epic Records. Most of the music on the final incarnation of the album was completed in late 2006 following the departure of band member Andy Taylor with new guitarist Dominic Brown replacing him, when record producer Timbaland began working with the band. However, Brown is not considered an official member, so Duran Duran is featured as a quartet. "Falling Down" was the only single released from the album.

Bring On the Night is the first live album by Sting recorded over the course of several live shows in 1985 and released in 1986. The title is taken from a song by the Police from their 1979 album Reggatta de Blanc. The songs performed include Sting's early solo material from the studio album The Dream of the Blue Turtles, and from his time with the Police, with a few of the performances played as medleys of the two.

This considered collection trawls the movie soundtracks of the past twenty years and gathers together, in one place, some outstanding tracks. Ignore the fact the album is billed as "Sting At The Movies", and the album contains four Police songs - at least one of which was co-written with Andy Summers ('Murder By Numbers'). Instead, let's look at the songs themselves. Hits such as 'De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da' and 'Englishman In New York' sit very comfortably alongside the smoky, atmospheric songs from Leaving Las Vegas', 'Angel Eyes' and 'My One And Only Love', and Sabrina's' 'Moonlight' Sting's voice is made for such tracks, and it's a shame that 'It's A Lonesome Old Town' couldn't make it through to the final tracklist, perhaps at the expense of the rather syrupy, but number one hit 'All For Love'.

The album is inspired by the musical of the same name, which premiered in June 2014, and whose songs were written by Sting. The play explores the themes of homecoming and self-discovery, drawing upon Sting's memories of growing up in the shipbuilding town of Wallsend, along with his reflections on the complexity of relationships, the passage of time and the importance of family and community.

The album features fifteen reworked versions of a selection of Sting's most widely recognised songs from across his career. Via his social media outlets, Sting described the new versions of the songs as being "reconstructed", "refitted" and "reframed", but "with a contemporary focus". Some songs on the album have been remixed using elements of the original tracks, while others are complete re-recordings.
