The Cosmos Rocks is the debut studio album by Queen + Paul Rodgers released on 15 September 2008. It contains 14 new tracks written by Brian May, Paul Rodgers and Roger Taylor. This is the first studio album of new material from the two remaining members of Queen since 1995's Made in Heaven, and is the only studio collaboration to date with Paul Rodgers.

Leon Russell never quite hit all the right notes the way he did on his eponymous debut. He never again seemed as convincing in his grasp of Americana music and themes, never again seemed as individual, and never again did his limited, slurred bluesy voice seem as ingratiating. He never again topped his triptych of "A Song for You," "Hummingbird," and "Delta Lady," nor did his albums contain such fine tracks as "Dixie Lullaby." Throughout it all, what comes across is Russell's idiosyncratic vision, not only in his approach but in his very construction -- none of the songs quite play out as expected, turning country, blues, and rock inside out, not only musically but lyrically. Yes, his voice is a bit of an acquired taste, but it's only appropriate for a songwriter with enough chutzpah to write songs of his own called "I Put a Spell on You" and "Give Peace a Chance." And if there ever was a place to acquire a taste for Russell, it's here.

High Vibration is a limited edition 16 SACD box set, featuring the 13 albums released by Yes between 1969 and 1987 and including the live album "Yessongs" as well as a bonus disc. The collection also includes an informative 200 page book that offers a history of the band, background information about its members, photos, a discussion of each recording and pertinent discographic data. The remastered DSD sound for both the SACD and the standard redbook CD layers is stunning in its clarity. I can hear levels of detail in the complex instrumental and vocal arrangements that have never been revealed before. Vocal textures have an almost satiny smoothness and refinement that must be heard to be appreciated. The band's multi-layered instrumental work has a Classical music intricacy and sophistication coupled with a Jazzy rhythmic excitement and funkiness that sounds timeless.

"Catch the Rainbow" is a song by the band Rainbow, released on their debut album Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and live album On Stage. Although never released as a single, the song became one of Rainbow's greatest hits and is featured on all of their compilations. Melodically, the song resembles "Little Wing" by The Jimi Hendrix Experience[1] while the arrangement has many Pink Floyd influences. The lyrics also seem to be a continuing for "Little Wing" ("Soft and warm she'll touch my face, a bed of straw against the lace").

The Gillan Tapes Volume 3 is a scorcher as it includes the very rare eight and half minute ""live"" studio version of ""Smoke On The Water"" which has never before been released on CD plus numerous other rarities CD2 is ""For Gillan Fans Only"" and is FREE (charged as a single CD)

Last fall psychedelic rock band The Movements, from Gothenburg, Sweden, released their long-awaited album Like Elephants 1. An album that was to score top reviews and end up at several music journalists “best-of-the-year” lists. On March 7, 2014, the second and final piece is being released: Like Elephants 2.
With Like Elephants 1 The Movements proclaimed their distance from today’s fast-food consumption of songs pulled out of their context and instead dare to demand a greater commitment by the listener. That through these two volumes, which not only stand strong individually but also creates a whole, a kind of continuity, together.
On Like Elephants 2 there is the catchy opening track Six Feet Under, spellbinding psychedelia in Stolen Love, and the raw and groovy Give It To Me to name three of the ten well-crafted songs to be found on this album. The album has for the most part been recorded at Music A Matic in Gothenburg. Produced by The Movements and Michael Nilsson.

It was recorded by the Shirelles and the Beatles, and became hits for both. The highest-charting version of "Baby It's You" was by the band Smith, who took the song to number five on the US charts in 1969.

Best of Dark Horse 1976–1989 is George Harrison's second official compilation album and was released in 1989. It follows up on both his successful comeback album Cloud Nine in 1987 and the Harrison-led Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1 the following year, also a big seller.

On this, the first of two releases penciled in for 2014, the prolific—by modern standards—guitarist is lent cracking rhythmic impetus by drummer Vinnie Colaiuta and bassist Jimmy Johnson. Given the wide variety of contexts in which Colaiuta (Frank Zappa, John McLaughlin, Joni Mitchell) and Johnson (Allan Holdsworth, James Taylor) have played over the years, it's little wonder they drive Budjana's tunes with verve, and when required, great finesse.
