Очередное посвящение умной группе, на которой выросло столько прекрасных музыкантов. Yes. Как оказалось, их творчество подвергнуто исследованию, переработке и уважительному развитию. Вот Роберт Берри (член группы Эмерсона и Палмера без Лейка -- "3") поет Roundabout ничуть не хуже Андерсона. Но при чем здесь "лучше-хуже" -- главное, по-другому и с любовью. Без Siberian Khatru, конечно, не обойтись в святочные морозы. А Mood For A Day играет на гитаре Стив Морс (Deep Purple). На Turn Of The Century Стив Хоу изображает сам себя, молодого, а поет-таки женщина -- Анни Аслам (группа Renaissance). Обложка работы Роджера Дина (а как же?). Отличный диск для вдумчивой езды

Музыка раннего и среднего периода творчества группы кристально чистая и хрупкая (наверно не зря один из их альбомов того времени называется «Fragile» - «Хрупкий»). Это музыка добра во всех его проявлениях – умиротворенного, радостного, тревожного или печального. Запутанные ходы клавишных и гитары в пульсирующей и плавающей ритм секции, высокий, почти нечеловеческий вокал – необычный и величественный музыкальный мир. Очень индивидуальный и не имеющий аналогов. Жаль, что совсем скоро после записи данного концерта группа предпочла покинуть этот мир и перейти в другой, более коммерческий и понятный. Вернулись с небес на Землю?

Наверное, многие согласятся, что «The Ladder» - самая лучшая работа Yes в 90-ых годах. «Open Your Eyes» был откровенно слабым, чего уж там говорить о «Talk»... Но на этом альбоме всё иначе. Тут нет классических сложных композиций с резкой сменой ритма и двадцатиминутной эпичностью. Зато есть азарт и драйв. Когда слушаешь данную пластинку, постоянно приходит мысль, что Джон Андерсон со своими старичками решили просто оторваться как следует. Через весь саунд проходит что-то вроде гавайской мелодии и, несомненно, вызывает в памяти образа этих островов. Иногда барабанщик Alan White и вовсе отключается и в игру вступает компьютерный ритм поп-музыки. И звучит это просто отлично!

YES - это безусловно, особая вагранка и футеровка музыкального литья. К ней и надо-бы подходить по-особому. В группе всякого бывало. Поэтому я подхожу к "Magnification" под тем же углом зрения, что и Андерсон. Дело в том, что у каждого человека, неизменно наступает период, когда он начинает воспринимать мир по-иному, просто отличному от предыдущего восприятия. Когда это начало происходить со мной, то именно в этот перид вышел "Magnification". Мне альбом понравился и даже очень, я, что называется, был с ним на одной волне. А когда удосужился вникнуть в содержание текстов (особенно заглавной песни), то и вовсе упрочился в новом видении мира. Как пел Дж. Леннон в Имэджин: "Я такой не один".По-музыке, в принципе, все правильно уже сказано. Это не очень то арт-рок. Барабаны, да, их почти нет, но это не помешало мне принять эту работу достаточно близко. YES!

The Yes Album is the third studio album by English progressive rock band Yes, released on 19 February 1971 by Atlantic Records. It was the band's first album to feature guitarist Steve Howe, who replaced Peter Banks in 1970, as well as their last to feature keyboardist Tony Kaye until 1983's 90125.
The album was the first by the band not to feature any cover versions of songs. The band spent mid-1970 writing and rehearsing new material at a farmhouse at Romansleigh, Devon, and the new songs were recorded at Advision Studios in London in the autumn. While the album retained close harmony singing, Kaye's Hammond organ, and Chris Squire's melodic bass, as heard on earlier releases, the new material also covered further styles including jazz piano, funk, and acoustic music. All of the band members contributed ideas, and tracks were extended in length to allow music to develop. Howe contributed a variety of guitar styles, including a Portuguese guitar, and recorded the solo acoustic guitar piece "Clap", live at the Lyceum Theatre, London.
