Hollywood is the fourth studio album by the close harmony trio The Puppini Sisters, released through Decca on 4 November 2011. The album was released on 26 December in the United Kingdom. Hollywood is the trio's homage to the classic music of the silver screen. The album features ten cover versions of popular songs from films and musicals, as well as one original song written by the group. Hollywood was recorded with The Puppini Sisters standing round one microphone. It is the last album to be recorded with Stephanie O'Brien, who departed the group in 2012. Hollywood received mixed reviews from critics and charted at Number 16 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart.

"Theme from A Summer Place" is a song with lyrics by Mack Discant and music by Max Steiner, written for the 1959 film A Summer Place, which starred Sandra Dee and Troy Donahue. It was recorded for the film by Hugo Winterhalter. Originally known as the "Molly and Johnny Theme", the piece is not the main title theme of the film, but a love theme for the characters played by Dee and Donahue.

In 1981, trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and saxophonist Branford Marsalis burst on the scene as the young lions who started a jazz renaissance. They were followed by their younger brothers, trombonist Delfeayo and drummer Jason. Incredible as it sounds, they’ve never recorded together as a family. On August 4, 2001, at the University of New Orleans, they performed with their father, the esteemed pianist and educator Ellis Marsalis in a concert that marked his retirement from the school’s jazz department. Supported by bassist Roland Guerin, the family delivers a swinging live program of standards and original works in trio, quartet, and sextet combinations. The elder Marsalis’s pristine pianism colors his midtempo tune “Swingin’ at the Haven,” while Jason Marsalis’s Afro-tinged intro peppers the standard “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top.” Wynton and Branford declare their brotherly love on the saxophonist’s Ornette Coleman-esque “Cain and Abel.” Actor-singer-pianist Harry Connick Jr. joins in on the fun with “Twelve’s It” and “St. James Infirmary.”

During the 90's the band went from strength to strength rising through the ranks of the brass band world when in the year 2000 gained Championship Section status playing the test piece 'Variations on an Enigma', Greggs were only awarded 8th place out of 10 but this was considered a great achievement first time around. The band has performed at many prestigious venues such as the Princess Ballroom at the Winter Gardens Blackpool, Symphony Hall Birmingham, Festival Hall Harrogate and the Albert Hall in London. It has also appeared on TV and took part in the Lord Mayor of London's parade. The band folded in 2009.

Here We Stand is the second studio album by Scottish rock band The Fratellis, released on 9 June 2008. Self produced by the band in their own studio in Scotland, Here We Stand reached and peaked at number five in the UK Albums Chart on 15 June 2008.

Everything that the mellow-toned tenor Fraser MacPherson played was "in the tradition," but some of the music on this CD reaches back even further than usual. Several of the songs (such as "Louisiana," "Struttin' With Some Barbecue" and "You're Lucky to Me") are from the 1920s, and even the three group originals hint at that early style. MacPherson, whose sound often resembles Zoot Sims and Stan Getz, was one of the last of the "Four Brothers" cool tenors. He is assisted by trombonist Ian McDougall, guitarist Oliver Gannon, bassist Steve Wallace, and drummer John Sumner (all fellow Canadians) throughout the delightful set, one of MacPherson's last before his 1993 death.

Johnny Moore, who sang lead on many of the Drifters' classic hits in the 50s and 60s, restarted the group in England in the 1970s. No need to recount the history here - Google it. This group isn't trying to sound the same as the prior American iterations but Johnny Moore is up front with his amazing voice and this makes them legit. Folks in the Carolinas who enjoy shagging and beach music will love this CD.
