Abandon All Ships (рус. Покинуть все корабли) — канадская электроникор-группа. Была основана в 2006 году. Изначально подписана на лейбл Rise Records, позже группа также подписала контракт с лейблом Universal Music Canada. Группа выпустила мини-альбом в 2009 году, а после подписывания на лейбл Rise Records выпустила три альбома: Geeving в 2010 году, Infamous в 2012 и Malocchio в 2014 . 15 августа 2014 на официальной странице группы в Facebook, было опубликовано сообщение о распаде коллектива. 6 февраля 2016 года, в преддверие юбилейного концерта в Торонто, посвященном пятилетию выхода дебютного альбома Geeving, группа выпустила новый сингл/клип "Loafting". В данный момент участники занимаются собственными проектами.

Стиль альбома однозначно причисляется к блэку только по вокальной манере исполнения.Остальное содержание музыки не столь однозначно классифицируется. Например, в первом треке "War" можно слышать и "прогрессивные" элементы. Второй трек в полном соответствии со своим названием ("Психбольница") представляет какую-то мелодическую смесь блэка (вокал), утяжелённого трэша (гитары и ударные) с добавлением техно-симфо элементов. В том же духе звучит композиция "Blood", только в ней добавляется еще женский вокал.Ритм всегда невысокий, а в последних двух треках просто медленный. Бластов на этом альбоме вы не услышите.

Exciter, честь им и хвала, – одни из тех немногих, кто несут идеалы классического спид-трэш-метала в новое время и делают это последовательно. Всё своё творческое пространство они поворачивают вспять, поддаваясь воспоминаниям, но не увлекаясь ими. Злость, скорость, эмоции – собственно эти элементы и перечислены в по старинке сработанном названии. Может быть, и насквозь неоригинально, но почему-то слушается на одном дыхании. Причина? Такую музыку невозможно долго и мучительно вынашивать, она рождается в одночасье, искренне, словно взрыв. Уважение вызывают и классический грязный звук и (это, пожалуй, самое важное) полное отсутствие компромиссов. "Thrash Speed Burn" даёт понять, что развиваться Exciter не хотят. Да им и не надо.

When someone talks about concept albums in metal, Dream Theater’s ‘Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory’ is bound to come up; mainly because it was a landmark album that was universally admired both for its themes and musicianship. Dream Theater haven’t done a full concept album since then; they’ve done concept songs, but haven’t really dedicated a whole album to it. Seventeen years after ‘…Scenes from a Memory’, they have decided to create another concept album. ‘The Astonishing’ is the result of more than two years of work by John Petrucci and the band, and they have come extremely close to topping ‘Scenes from a Memory’, by taking you out of this world and into their fantastical land to tell you a tale of struggle, love, despair and hope.
With ‘The Astonishing’, Dream Theater has brought to fruition what they have said is their most ambitious project. ‘The Astonishing’ tells us a story about the importance of music through music, and what better story-tellers are suited to this task than Dream Theater? The band has given fans, old and new, an album which they will cherish for a long time. This is the kind of album that people will look back on with fond memories; I know I will. I’ll be looking forward to seeing this album performed live in some form or the other, for that is how this album was meant to be heard and seen.
