Прекрасный альбом, который в моём восприятии стал вершиной творчества группы. Атмосферность, которая является важным критерием любой блэковой работы, здесь на недосягаемой высоте. С первых же звуков "One By One" происходит полное погружение в мир Immortal - мрачный, заснеженный и суровый. Здесь нет так называемого "сырого звука", которым часто бравируют многие норвежские коллеги данного коллектива, нередко прикрывая таким образом своё неумение играть. Напротив, вычищенные риффы и чёткие ударные отлично способствуют наилучшему восприятию песен, будь то почти детовый боевик "Sons Of Northern Darkness" или баллада (но строго в рамках жанра!)
